In 2017, while interviewing Texas Rangers’ Adrian Beltre, two more Rangers players approached Beltre and Jones with a Powerade bucket.

That’s exactly what happened in 2018 when the BBC had to cut meteorologist Tomasz Schafernaker short due to technical difficulties. Unfortunately, Schafernaker appears to have been unaware of the problem.

Schafernaker assumed he was off the radio after repeatedly shouting “Hello?” and received no response. He had no idea that tens of thousands of people were watching him roam off-screen, pick at his nails and clothing, and get angry by the lack of communication with the technical glitch. Unfortunately, this news reporter found himself in the middle of everyone’s worst fear. He even attempted to chase the rogue, but found it impossible to walk while with his pants down!

In 2017, the BBC had one of the most horrific news glitches in history. Not only that, but it happened to Hugh Edwards who was a 25-year presenter on one of the channel’s most popular shows, BBC Nightly News at 10. When millions of people tuned in from all across the world, they were treated to one of the longest technical problems in television history.

For three minutes, a technical error owned the floor by displaying random broken video clips to the audience. The three-minute lost screen time is considered a “long time” on live television. The program would cut to Edwards, who sat silently at the news desk, going through his notes every now and then. Edwards claims he was completely unaware of what was going on. When the presenter got the cue, he finally began the show after what felt like an eternity, as if nothing had happened.

Channel 3 intended to show a photo of the man accused of committing the crime about the disappearance of a sixteen-year-old girl named Molly Bish. Unfortunately, as you can see, this did not happen. While Rodney Stanger was the prime suspect, Channel 3 inadvertently broadcasted a hamster instead!
While most of us have had a good laugh about what happened, the news anchor remained composed. “Obviously, this is not Rodney Stanger,” she remarked hastily and without a hint of humor. She then promised that they would exhibit Stanger’s photograph again later, which they did.

John Palminteri of KEYT 13 is one of the nicest guys in the shark-eat-shark world of television news reporting, according to many in the industry. Unless you mess with his live shots, of course! When a teenage boy from Santa Barbara attempted to photobomb one of Palminteri’s live updates, he learned the hard way.

Palminteri was not having it. The anchor gave the young man a forceful shove as soon as he stepped into frame, sending him flying. That’ll teach him not to mess with reporters, right? We only hope he wasn’t seriously injured!

Is there a hurricane in the UK? It may seem ridiculous, yet it came close to reality. It all started in 1987 when meteorologist Michael Fish gave his regular weather report. He began by saying, “Good afternoon to you all today. Apparently, a woman called the BBC and stated she heard a hurricane was approaching. Don’t worry, if you’re watching, there isn’t any!” And Fish was technically correct. What became known as the Great Storm of 1987 was actually a cyclone, not a hurricane.

Residents in the United Kingdom, on the other hand, were unconcerned about the technicalities. When winds of over 100 mph slammed and wrecked the country, raking more than 1 billion pounds in damage and killing 19 lives, it certainly felt like a hurricane. Some speculated that if Fish had been more forthright with his weather forecast, people would have been better prepared. As a result, Fish apologized live on air afterward.

It takes some getting used to working from home in coronavirus. Ask Melinda Meza, a Sacramento-based anchor for KCRA 3, who accidentally filmed her husband naked in the shower! Meza live-streamed from her bathroom one morning, doing a live broadcast on hairstylists requesting to return to work.

Meza, on the other hand, was unaware that the audience could see a naked man exiting the shower. Mike de Lambert, her husband, is thought to be the gentleman in the background. However, neither Meza nor KCRA 3 have commented on the incident after the broadcast. Despite this, the video went popular on the internet!

While reporting on the temperatures in the Phoenix area, weather reporter Cory McCloskey came into a hitch. McCloskey was apparently taken aback when he learned that temperatures in certain cities were well over 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit, with one reaching 2,960 degrees. Clearly, something wasn’t adding up with these figures!

McCloskey, on the other hand, was aware of what was going on and handled the clear technical issue admirably. Because the reporter wasn’t formally permitted to evacuate cities, he humorously advised people to “go out while they still can.” While we can all agree that Arizona is scorching, it isn’t quite as hot as we think!
