Listening to Sofia and her boss

The beggar, still groggy and weak from the surgery, was jarred awake by the sound of Sofia’s heated argument with her boss just outside his room. Despite his frail state, the injustice of her being fired for what she had done for him propelled him out of bed. He couldn’t just lie there while the person who had helped him was in trouble because of that very act of kindness.

With a determination that belied his weakened state, he carefully rose from the bed, each step a testament to the urgency he felt. Approaching the door with a mix of trepidation and resolve, he paused, gathering the courage to face what lay beyond. It was a moment fraught with vulnerability, a crossing from the shadows of anonymity into the light of revelation.
