David Bowie’s previously unheard covers of Bob Dylan’s ‘Tryin’ and John Lennon’s ‘Mother’ have been released. These covers were released to mark what would have been the music icon’s 74th birthday.

Lennon’s 1970 track was originally recorded by Bowie in 1998. It was recorded with longtime producer Tony Visconti. This track was set to appear on a Lennon tribute collection. Unfortunately, the release ultimately failed to emerge.

The other cover is Dylan’s ‘Tryin’ to Get to Heaven’ which comes from Dylan’s 1997 Grammy-winning album ‘Time Out of Mind’. This track was also originally recorded by Bowie in 1998. At that time, he was working on his live album ‘LiveAndWell.com’.

Both of these new legendary recordings are being released as a limited edition 7″ single from Rhino Records. Only 8147 copies are available for fans in the market. Bowie’s music is also available on TikTok. Fans can access tracks including ‘Modern Love’, ‘Heroes’, ‘Starman’, ‘Rebel Rebel’ and ‘Under Pressure’.
