Your wedding day is one of the major events in your life. A lot of women have planned what their wedding day would be like since they were kids and that includes their dream wedding dress.

While most brides aim to look like beautiful princesses, some end up ditching the traditional route. And some of these unconventional ideas have shocked their wedding guests. Here is a list of some of the most unforgettable and embarrassing wedding dresses ever worn.

Too much texture

One look at this picture and you can tell that there is just too much going on – that is a lot of lace and feathers. Plus the color combination of white, red, and black seems to be the most unbecoming color palette for a wedding.

To finish her overall look, she also has an umbrella decorated the same way as her outfit. The bride looks like she just murdered a few chickens before walking down the aisle. We got to give credit for her looking so happy despite her ridiculous look.

Winter Wonderland

Let’s just hope this is a winter wedding, otherwise, the whole thing would be more ridiculous than it already looks. This bride and her bridesmaids clearly do not acknowledge how ridiculous they look and have no remorse for it.

While each of us deserves a moment to shine bright like a diamond, this sparkly silver outfit can make anyone blind. The bride’s gown of layers and fur also happens to come with lights to make sure that she outshines the rest.

The hottest bride

Everyone likes to look hot on their wedding day – who wouldn’t? So some brides would usually tend to go for sexy cuts when choosing their gowns. Well, this one wanted to be the hottest bride literally. Just look at that dress!

This wedding gown has red hot flames painted on the trail of her white gown. We hope that she was not off to a church wedding because we don’t think the priest would approve of a dress that resembles hell.

Look for the silver lining

This woman looks lost in the streets with her outfit. She has almost a confused look on her face – one that matches the confusing gown she is wearing. This dress is made out of aluminum foil and it also has rhinestones embedded in it for some extra spark.

We know for a fact that wedding dresses do not come cheap so if you have a way to create something with cheaper material, we are not surprised if brides would go for it. We wonder if she feels hot under the sun though.

Two-in-one bride

Yup – we are confused too. We do not know if this is just some identity crisis or a rebellious act but it is clear that she feels like she is half a bride and half a groom – and her partner has to marry both sides of her.

Source: Pens and Patron

This bride is wearing a gown and tux hybrid split right in the middle. Even her flowers took a split as well as she has both a boutonniere in her suit and she holds a bouquet in the wedding gown part of her outfit.

Power puff

This bride has placed some serious thought into making sure that everyone treats her like a princess on her wedding day. Ditching the traditional white wedding gown, she stands out by wearing a pastel pink dress with the puffiest skirt possible.

Source: Pens and Patron

And in case you miss that it is her special day, she has a tall crown and a scepter to drive that point into your head. But it looks like she did not consider how much space her puffy skirt would take in a carriage. Her groom is practically buried underneath her dress.

Cupcake skirt

Did you know that most brides do not get to eat well on their wedding day? They often are too busy entertaining their guests or their dresses are too tight and they do not want to feel bloated. This bride looks like she will never go hungry though.

Source: Pens and Patron

Although this bride may never go hungry, she also has the consequence of being on her feet all night because there is no way she can sit in that skirt. On the bright side, it is also a great way to make entertaining guests easier. Greet the bride and grab yourself a treat!

Troublesome train

A long train has been a popular choice for royal families. Just take Princess Diana’s iconic wedding gown for example. But this bride seemed to have taken things a bit too far, proving that there can be too much of a good thing.

Source: Pens and Patron

The train of this bridal gown had to be handled by more or less 30 to 40 people. Could you imagine the bride walking around or even dancing in that thing? All those people carrying her train do not even male for a beautiful photo op. What a waste of cloth!

Hunting or haunting?

For their special day, this couple chooses to pay homage to their love of hunting – hence the camouflage wedding dress that the bride has on and the totally casual look of the groom. Even the veil is lined with camouflage cloth.

And as if things were not tacky enough, they chose to accessorize their hunting theme with bright orange and red flowers that called more attention than her own gown. At least the bride can just camouflage into the background if ever she regrets her choice.

Light as air

Balloons are festive decorations for any occasion and this wedding gown must be the most festive of all because it is totally made out of white balloons. We’re just surprised that the bride has not floated away at this point.

But we wonder if the bride gets to sit comfortably? In fact, everyone who approaches her should be patted down to make sure they do not have anything sharp on them so they don’t accidentally pop her dress.

Short and tight

While most wedding gowns are large and poofy so you can easily spot the bride, this bride decided to go in a different direction. She goes for a tight dress that was long enough to cover her privates and short enough to show off her tattoos.

And who needs accessories when your arm and your leg are filled with an impressive amount of tattoos? That being said, this dress does look too simple for a wedding but hey, sometimes less is more.

Biker bride

This couple proves that weddings do not have to be big and expensive. While most people think of weddings as grand even if that requires a black-tie dress code, this couple chose to focus more on the fun part and letting loose. You can tell that by their very casual attire.

Source: Pens and Patron

This biker chic still chose to wear the traditional veil and garter. The groom also made an effort to put a formal touch on his usual leather outfit with a bowtie. It looks like this bride and groom saved up a lot of money and are off to a new adventure on the road after this.

She got sponsored

This bride happened to win a Taco Bell contest in Las Vegas. The price? A wedding chapel ceremony and a lifetime supply of burritos and tacos. And she ended up getting married in a dress made out of Taco Bell packets.

This may not be the ideal dress for most brides but considering how expensive a wedding costs, we don’t blame her for doing anything for a sponsored wedding. Even if it means wearing this dress.

The thrill of frills

This bride just realized her dress was a mistake on the car ride to her wedding. We know wedding gowns are usually big but too many layers of frills can really be a bit too much. It looks like there is barely any room to breathe in the back seat.

And as if all the frills were not a big enough statement, the bride chose to be a little extra with her very sparkly crown. Her matching earrings were also extra sparkly and big. We bet that this is one bride that you could see from space.

Baa baa baaride

This bride chose to wear a dress made out of actual sheep wool and even brought a sheep along with her to match on her wedding day. We know that some things may be a bit odd in the countryside but this is peculiar even for the most remote rural regions.

Who knows maybe there is a sentimental story behind this wedding gown choice. Maybe the bride is a country girl who grew up with this sheep as her best friend. Now that would be a touching story.

A different fairytale wedding

When one tells their wedding planner they want to become a princess on their wedding day, nobody would probably expect that the bride would be referring to Princess Fiona. And to make things more surprising, it is Princess Fiona in ogre form.

This couple happens to be fanatics of the movie Shrek. And they totally embrace the fact that they look like the two ogres in love. In fact, some of their guests dressed as other characters from the movie franchise like Donkey and Puss in Boots.

The Twilight fanatic

Why choose between Team Edward or Team Jacob when you can declare your love for both? This bride chose a hybrid wedding dress with the face of Edward and Jacob on each side. But this dress is more appropriate for a fan convention than a wedding.

We believe that if you have to flex your love for someone of the opposite sex on your own wedding, it should be the groom, right? We believe this bride is lucky enough to have a groom that puts up with this silliness even on their special day.

Love is a gamble

We are going to take guess that this wedding happened in Las Vegas. Either that or the bride chose a casino theme somewhere. You can see playing cards everywhere even in the bride’s pink wedding gown.

Source: Pens and Patron

One thing is for sure this bride is totally committed to the whole casino or Las Vegas theme. If she looks this way, we wonder if the groom has a matching suit. Overall, the bride does not look that bad but you have to admit it’s an unexpected look.

Her something blue

We all know the four essentials that a bride must have – something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. Well, this bride took her “something blue” a little bit too far. The shade of blue is not even a flattering one.

Source: Pens and Patron

Although it is becoming common for brides to ditch the tradition of wearing plain white gowns these days, some would go for soft feminine hues like pastels. It is not that common to see this shocking shade of blue.

Grand graffiti

This art student had been working on street art as part of her final project. She was fascinated by everything she learned by doing the project. In fact, she loved it so much that she incorporated her work on her big day.

The letters on her dress stand for the first letters of her husband’s and her name. Now, this could look like a totally crazy and tacky idea. But this bride manages to pull it off creatively and the dress seems to match her amazing personality as well.

Super bride

While most brides want to be treated like royalty on their big day, this bride opts to be a superhero who is ready to save the day. She decides to accessorize her glamourous wedding gown with a mask and vibrant yellow gloves and a toolbelt and earrings to match.

Source: Pens and Patron

At least the bride did not opt for a full superhero getup on her big day. We wonder if the groom also rocked a superhero look for the wedding. Looks like this bride knows the great responsibility she has as a wife.

Aye do

This couple chose a pirate-themed wedding for some reason. And they really went all out for it with the right accessories. Let’s admit it – this look does not seem so bad for a costume party. But for a wedding?

Source: Pens and Patron

Naturally, the wedding was held by the sea and they had their photo sessions by the shore. We hoped they served seafood in the reception to match. But there is no doubt that all eyes were on the bride, who showed a lot of leg that day.

Pastel punk princess

One look at this picture and you know that this is no ordinary girl. Just look at how edgy her hair is! She had her wedding dress custom-made to reflect the music she composes for an anime show that is set in a forest with a pastel palette.

Source: Pens and Patron

The outer layer of this wedding gown is made out of sheer gossamer with faded pastel leaves embroidered throughout. The bride then wears a polka dot dress inside. She has some Doc Martens on her feet because she planned to enter the ceremony on a bike.

Golden glow

The wedding dress is supposed to be one of the major costs in a wedding but would you spend as much as $235,000 for it? This couple did. The gown does not look embarrassing but it is kind of ridiculous to have an insanely extravagant wedding gown.

Source: Pens and Patron

As you can see in the picture, the groom has a matching outfit although not as heavily embellished as the bride’s. They say this bride loves anything that has to do with gold and for the wedding, she wanted a gown that would reflect that.
