After a few rough years because of you know what, Hollywood is finally bouncing back in 2022. So, grab your popcorn and kids and head to the movie theatres this year! Because there is a lot to see and unpack!

From highly-anticipated sequels, we are looking at you Legally Blonde 3, to original action movies and of course, a few major Marvel blockbusters thrown in 2022 is looking like a very good year for entertainment and here are our favourites of them all!
The Batman
When news first broke that Robert Pattinson would take on the role of the titular Batman, many fans were left confused. Many only know the moody actor from Twilight and found it hard to separate the actor from his previous work and envision him as Batman.

But of course, despite Fan hesitation, the movie is set to be released on March 4, 2022. Alongside Robert Pattinson, the film has a stellar cast, including Paul Dano, Colin Farrell, Zoe Kravitz, Jeffery Wright, Andy Serkis, and more!
Uncharted
Ever since his breakthrough role as Spiderman, Tom Holland has managed to cement his action star status by appearing in big-budget movies ever since. And with 2022, he joins Mark Wahlberg in Uncharted
Sony Pictures Releasing
Originally a video game, following the story of Nathan Drake as he joins forces with Victor Sullivan to find lost treasure. The film is already out and was released on February 11, 2022. We recommend that you try this one in IMAX or 4DX to get the full experience.
The Lost City
Is this movie a romance? A comedy? an action/adventure? Well, it kind of all of the above. Starring Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum, The Lost City promise to leave audiences entertained and never knowing what is going to happen next.

This film seems like exactly what everyone needs, a light-hearted and easy film which will leave everyone laughing and feeling hopeful about life and love. It is set to release on March 25, 2022.
Morbius
Produced by Columbia Pictures, Mobrmius is an anti-hero superhero movie starring Jared Leto. The premise is simple, a genius doctor tries to cure himself of a rare and life-threatening disease but ends up turning himself into a vampire.
Sony Pictures
The film hasn’t had an easy time getting released, with its dates being pushed around 2022 several times. Initially set to be released in theatres on January 28, 2022, expect the film around April of this year now.
Legally Blonde 3
If you need to scream in excitement after reading the heading, we completely understand! It is finally coming! After years of petitions from fans, Reese Witherspoon is back as Elle and will be joined by Jennifer Coolidge’s Paulette.
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer
Witherspoon has been hinting about the film since 2018 and now after four years. It is finally here! The whole movie has been kept tightly under wraps and not much is revealed about the story, all we know is that Legally Blonde 3 will be released on May 20, 2022.
Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness
Much like the name suggests, this Marvel film will throw fans into the madness of the multiverse and they couldn’t be more excited. We recommend you watch the Disney+ series WandaVision and What If before you head to the theatres for this one.

The incredible cast features Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Patrick Stewart. And much like other Marvel films, the cast has stayed tight-lipped about the story and urged fans to find out more only when they see the film in theatres on May 06, 2022.
Lightyear
Chris Evans is breaking away from his Captain America role and taking one giant leap towards a more diverse acting career with Lightyear. The animated film will be based on real-life, astronaut Buzz Aldrin.

The film is said to be the origin story of the beloved Toy Story character, Buzz Lightyear and just from the trailer we can tell that this one is going to be well-loved by both kids and those kids at heart. The film is set to release on June 17, 2022.
Thor: Love And Thunder
With Avengers End Game, fans were warned that many of their favourite superheroes would not be the same ever again and Thor is the first one getting a major makeover. The film will revolve around Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Thor’s love interest.

Secondly, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie will make an appearance, as will a new villain, Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher. While you can expect to see Chris Hemsworth as Thor, expect the story to be a new and fresh take set to be released on July 8, 2022.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets Of Dumbledore
The third instalment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise is coming to screens near you on April 15, 2022, in the form of The Secrets of Dumbledore. While the first two films have been met with a lukewarm reception, both by critics and fans, this one claims to change that narrative.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One)
After the huge and somewhat unexpected success of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Sony has been very keen on creating a sequel to the animated superhero movie and finally, fans can expect to see it on October 7, 2022.

As the new trend goes, the plot is kept completely under wraps and we love that – thank goodness, the days of watching the entire film through the trailer are gone! We do know that Miles Morales will once again team up with Gwen Stacy and other spider-people to take on a new villain!
Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom
Another action movie, we can’t wait to see and know nothing about! Like literally nothing! Even the full name of the film was kept secret for a very long time! All we know, according to lead actor Jason Momoa is that the film will be full of comedy and is going to be released on December, 16th 2022.

I think the stakes are a lot higher. There’s a lot of comedy. So, I mean, I giggled reading [the script].”

The 90s classic video game first made its big-screen debut in 2020 and became one of the highest-grossing films of the year, so it is safe to expect that the sequel will be no different. Being released on April 8, 2022.

The movie is one which is geared mostly towards kids but that doesn’t mean that adults or fans of the video game won’t be able to find the film enjoyable and full of easter eggs which will make them remember their own childhood.
Hocus Pocus 2
Another film targeted to 90s babies! Hocus Pocus 2 will be released in 2022 and will star Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy, and Bette Midler reprising their roles from the first movie.

Set Twenty-nine years after the events of the first film, the Sanderson sisters are back in present-day Salem and well, that is all we know. Fans have very high expectations from the sequel and we just hope that it adds to the cult classic rather than do the opposite.
Ambulance
What did we tell you? Hollywood really liked their action movies. Directed by Michael Bay, Ambulance follows two brothers as they rob a bank…to pay off medical bills. This modern-day Robin hood story is a fresh take on the tried and tested robber film.

Starring Jake Gyllenhaal as one of the robbers with his on-screen brother being played by actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Of course, expect for the robbery to go completely wrong on and watch how the brothers run away from the law on April 8, 2022.
The Northman
This historical drama promises to hit all the right notes. Just looking at the cast will give you an idea about what to expect. Starring Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe and Bill Skarsgård just to name a few.
Focus Features
The film is set to release on April 22, 2022. The story is set in 10th Century Iceland and centres around a prince who wants to get revenge for the death of his father. The film is actually based in reality, albeit very lightly.
DC League Of Super-Pets
One of the most anticipated family movies, DC League Of Super-Pets is a fresh take on the action genre and focuses on, you guessed it the pets of superheroes. Mainly, Superman’s trusted doggy, Krypto.

His four-legged companion also has powers in the film and when Superman and the rest of the Justice League go missing, it is up to Krypto to create a new league of furry superheroes to help their owners. The film is set to release on May 20, 2022.
Top Gun: Maverick
Another highly fan requested film. Tom Cruise is back in Top Gun: Maverick which is set to release on May 27, 2022. The sequel will follow Pete “Maverick” Mitchell as he trains new graduates for a risky mission.
Paramount Pictures
The film has been hit with major production drama and was originally meant to be released in 2018. But then the film was delayed to a 2020 release after some controversy with the Chinese government and delayed again due to scheduling conflicts with Tom Cruise but finally, everything is smoothed out and the film is on track for a 2022 release.
Jurassic World Dominion
The third instalment in the updated Jurassic World franchise takes place four years after the events of Fallen Kingdom. The film was originally going to be the last in the series but now is hailed as “the start of a new era” by the studio.
Legendary Pictures
Dominion is set to release on June 10, 2022, and unlike the rest of the films will take a more worldwide look at dinosaurs and how each country is dealing with the new invasive species and how to stop them.
