Airplanes gave us a faster way to travel around the world. However, it also opened up a new door to a hellish experience. Gone are the days where people used to dress up to travel. Now, most people just don’t care and worse, act like they are just at home on the plane.

It does not help that the plane gives you limited personal space. You have no choice but to deal with whoever sits beside, behind, and in front of you the whole time. And if you end up with one of the passengers on this list, we bet you will not survive a whole flight without a negative thought on your mind.
The body bag
Germs and viruses can easily spread in this day and age – especially in a closed and tight area like an airplane. While some people wear face masks to protect themselves, this one decided to go to the extreme with a plastic bag.

We just hope this picture had been taken recently when there is a pandemic going on. This person’s behavior could have been understandable at this point. But given that passengers are not wearing masks and are still seated closely together, we’re thinking this person is just a germophobe.
Travel attire
Somebody has gone extra with their outfit of the day when he boarded a plane wearing a Spider-Man costume. We doubt he has fooled anyone into thinking that he is the Peter Parker who shoots webs from his hands.

We can’t tell if this guy is trying to get attention or if this is a dare that he had to endure. We can’t even tell how he got past airport security looking like this. Maybe he is celebrating Halloween in the air?
The gym head
This passenger managed to find some space on the plane to do his workout. You can see him doing some push-ups in the area upfront of the plane. The thing is – this is also the area where the cabin crew performs a lot of their tasks.

Maybe he had to follow a very strict workout routine that could not wait until the plane landed? But judging from his built, it looks like this gym head is not exactly competing anywhere soon. Maybe there’s another passenger onboard that he wanted to impress.
Coat check
Some people just don’t care where they put their stuff on a plane. This woman decided to hang her coat on her seat, without thinking that the passenger behind her could want to watch TV on the screen.

The coat ended up covering most of the screen and we can just imagine how frustrating it can get to navigate the screen this way. Next time, just put your jackets and coats on your lap, please.
Sleep stretching
Looks like someone found a new way to fall asleep without invading anyone’s personal space on the plane. But is it really necessary to go as far as sleeping upside down? And is it even more comfortable than sleeping while sitting just like any other normal passenger would?

One thing is for sure, it is not a sight you see on every flight. But imagine how annoying it could be for the people sitting next to you if you lose your balance in this position and your feet ends up knocking somebody’s head.
Someone needs attention
Kids can get restless on planes. They do not have enough room to move around and their parents are always exhausted at this point from getting everyone on the flight to pay a lot of attention to them. In the end, they have to make do with whatever is available for entertainment and that includes passengers seated around them.

Multi-tasking flyer
Some people are so busy that they have to take their work with them while flying. This could have been perfectly okay if you just used your own space. This passenger had to use the tray of his seatmate for his iPad.

It looks like this guy is multi-tasking by working and entertaining himself with a movie. You get limited space in a plane and having a tray down tightens up that limited space. Kudos to this passenger for being patient enough to allow this.
Compromised touchscreen
Some airlines provide passengers the chance to play a wide variety of games on their screens for in-flight entertainment, especially for long flights. And this person decided to entertain himself with a game of poker – using his foot.

We just don’t see any reason why he could not use his hand. Plus wouldn’t playing this with your foot be more uncomfortable? That is just so unsanitary. We do hope that this airline cleans its touchscreens thoroughly after every flight!
Feel at home
Most people consume meals on flight – especially when it comes to long ones. There is nothing wrong with that. However, this woman made this list because she was eating her food with her feet up in the air, barefoot.

In some cultures, eating barefoot is unacceptable. You have to take into consideration that when you travel, you will be with people of different cultures too and what you are doing around them may be offensive to them.
Underwear exposure
Here, we see a picture of someone’s boxer shorts hanging over the seat. Doing this with a scarf or a jacket may be a bit acceptable but exposing your underwear for everyone to see? We have a lot of questions about that one.

What is the owner wearing at the moment? Is that his seat or somebody else’s seat? Why are his boxers out in the open? Needless to say, even if that is the cleanest underwear in the world, this is a big no-no for us.
Fly-in closet
Girls who drool over walk-in closets should see this “fly-in closet” where the culprit decided to abuse the overhead baggage compartment by using it as her personal closet. She managed to kick off her stilettos and place them on the compartment along with her hat.

Aren’t you just tempted to squeeze in a small suitcase in there and squash her hat in the process? Although yes, you have a right to use the space, if you do not have any baggage to put in, let someone else have it.
Quick manicure
Some people actually judge you by the condition of your nails. Clean nails are necessary for good grooming. It is such a simple task that there is no excuse for a person to forget to do it at home.

Unfortunately, this person thought that the most appropriate time to cut his nails is in the middle of a flight. Aside from being inappropriate, it is also unhygienic. We know how those nail pieces can go in any direction – they can end up in somebody’s food or eye!
Preparing a winning smile
Brushing your teeth is a personal hygiene routine that must be done at least twice a day. This will keep all the cavities away and make sure that your breath smells fresh. But this guy seemed to take his dental care to the next level by doing it on the plane.

This could be an early morning flight and he forgot to brush his teeth to catch the plane. Maybe he’s going to meet a lover once he lands and wants to be ready for kisses. But there is no reason for him to wait till he could go to the bathroom to brush his teeth.
Airing it out
Passengers love it when there is an empty seat beside them on the plane. They get more space to use for their benefit and you no longer have to worry about your personal space. This man seemed to really make use of the space beside him.

He did not only take his shoes off and place them on the seat. He had to go so far as to take out the soles of his shoes and hung them over the armrest. He has a mask on so he probably is not bothered by the smell but we bet the passengers around him are not entirely pleased.
Thanksgiving break
When you get on a plane, you definitely do not expect to be seated in front of a turkey. So imagine the chaos that can ensue when you are seated and suddenly a turkey pops out from behind you. Pretty chaotic, right?

What happened to the cargo hold where most animals are supposed to be? Could it be a therapy turkey? What is so special about it that it had to be on the plane? Let’s just hope that this did not happen during Thanksgiving break.
Freshen up
Shoes do smell after some time. Sweat builds up and a bad smell follows. This is why it is not advisable to take off your shoes in public. You will never know what kind of scent you can release in the open air.

Hair flip
One of the rudest things a passenger can do during a flight is to flip his or her over their seat. It does not only get in the way of the magazine holders and trays but it is also unsanitary considering that you eat using the trays.

What makes this picture hilarious is the affected passenger’s expression when the picture was taken. We do not know if this was a scripted thing or if he knows the person sitting in front of him. Either way, this is definitely a situation not everyone would be comfortable with.
Zit popper
For some people, popping zits can be therapeutic. In fact, there are thousands of zit popping videos on YouTube to entertain these people. But with that said, we all know there is a time and place to do this to your own zit. After all, for most people, this is a very gross thing to do.

This passenger decided to do some facial skincare and pop her zits while on the plane. And she is doing this over the tray where she can eat food from. Pretty gross, right? We would appreciate it if you do activities like these in the privacy of the bathroom.
Somebody needs a foot spa
Planes in the economy class do not give you enough space to lay back and relax. So, this passenger tried to make some space by invading the space of the person seated in front of them. This is probably one of the most common things annoying people do on flights.

Having a stranger’s feet close to you is very unpleasant. It did not help that this person’s feet looked unkempt and had a rotten toenail. We just hope for this passenger’s sake that those feet did not smell too.
Flying instrument
This woman brought her huge cello along with her on the plane. It stuck out so hard that it was a bit bothering. Even the flight attendants had to stop by and ask her if it was really necessary to have the cello on the seat.

But it looks like the culprit won this time. Turned out that she bought two seats for this purpose. To be fair, there have been a lot of stories of airlines mishandling people’s musical instruments and a cello does cost a small fortune.
Lean back
Most plane seats come with an option to tilt back your seat. Sadly, some passengers would use this to their advantage and invade the space of the passenger sitting beside them, without consideration of how claustrophobic it can get and that the passenger’s tray is connected to the chair.

Lucky enough for this inconsiderate passenger, the man seated behind her seems to be patient enough. He even took it as a chance to rest his forehead while he tries to read the newspaper on his tray.
Too close for comfort
When you first look at this picture, you might see nothing wrong. It looks like a sweet couple who are off to their honeymoon. But things get weird when you know that the guy leaning on her shoulder is actually a stranger.

This happened during an overnight flight and the man seemed to get too close for comfort with the passenger next to him. Thankfully, the woman seemed to find it funny and gamely smiled for the camera.
Armrest or footrest?
This passenger may think that what he is doing is okay because there is no one seated in front of him. But this picture clearly shows how inappropriate it still is. At least he did not take his shoes off, right? Either way, it’s still unsanitary for the armrest.

Plus we wonder how the person seated next to him is feeling with his legs just wide open like that. Hopefully, the person seated next to him is someone he knows and someone who can tolerate his rude behavior.
Drying off
This passenger did the unthinkable when she decided to dry off her wet clothes on the plane. She hangs up her green blouse over the window and it looked like she also hanged up some clothes on the seats in front of her – including her underwear!

Was it raining that hard on her way to the airport that she ended up soaked? You gotta admire the patience of the people seating around her – especially the one whose head had to rest on a seat that had wet underwear hanging over it.
Too lazy to go to the bathroom
This is probably one of the worse cases on this list. Why would you set up a potty on a plane? And more important of all, why are you carrying around a potty while you are traveling? Are the public bathrooms not good enough for your child’s bottom?

Siesta time
This one is obviously staged. No plane can empty out with a man sleeping in the middle of the aisle. But imagine how annoying it would be if someone did this during your flight. People will have a hard time going to the bathroom.

This man is an artist who goes by the name of Michael. He actually takes photos of himself mocking annoying plane passengers for entertainment purposes. And by the looks of it, the flight crew finds the whole concept amusing as well.
No trespassing
While this list is all about people who annoy most of the passengers on a plane, this one seems to be the person who is annoyed by everyone on the plane. It looked like he just wanted to be separated from all things annoying.
