For many, fashion is all about making a statement. It’s about being bold and attracting attention. Sometimes this can lead to some very questionable outfits. People choose to express themselves in different ways and, for some, this means wearing bizarre outfits.

cosmopolitan.com

If you are someone who tends to wear simple t-shirts and jeans, then these outfits might come as a shock to you, but we have to say, we do admire the people who have the courage to wear such striking outfits. It’s all about being confident and owning your outfit! Read on to see some wild styles, from dresses made out of pieces of garbage, to converse trousers, you’re in for a treat!

Denim Boots

Whoever said that jeans need to cover your backside had obviously never heard of denim boots! If you are fed up with wearing the same old boring shoes all the time and want to make a bit of a statement, then you should certainly give these a go! These boots have sold for over $1,000!

pinterest.com

Big-time designers, such as Versace, have been producing these boots, but you can snap up a pair from more affordable high-street shops like Forever 21. You could even make your own pair, all you need to do is cut the tops off your favourite ripped jeans, throw on some denim heels and you’ve got yourself some snazzy footwear!

High-Heeled Roller Skates

Saint Laurent is a big name in the fashion industry. They are known for their cutting edge fashion and bold designs. However, in our opinion they took things a little too far with this design. In fact, it should never have been produced.

dazeddigital.com

As if it wasn’t already difficult enough to walk around in heels, Saint Laurent took it upon themselves to make it even more challenging still. These high-heeled roller skates are a total safety hazard. While the design is aesthetically pleasing, it is not at all functional unless you are gifted in the rollerskating area. A pair of these costs $1,995 and probably a broken leg!

Mexican Trivial Boots

These ridiculous shoes are called Trivial Boots. Fortunately, they are designed to be worn ironically by men in the trivial music scene. This is a genre of music which combines electropop with Latino music. If you didn’t know that already, not to worry, it has only been around since 2001!

imcorp.jp

The genre is popular among teenagers. Male trivial dance companies wear these strange shoes and decorate them with sequins, rhinestones, and even LED lights! They often have dance competitions, so it is important that they stand out!

Sleeve Hoodies

We love hoodies, and even cropped hoodies, but these we are not so sure about. We aren’t sure we would even call this a hoodie. It is so cropped that it is essentially just sleeves connected to each other by a hood.

daily-choices.com

It isn’t at all practical and looks very strange, even Kim Kardashian couldn’t pull this one off! A more appropriate name for this item of clothing would be a scarf with sleeves. We’ll stick to the normal hoodie, thank you!

Crocs With Platforms

Crocs have got to be one of the most awful trends of the 2000’s. We never thought these ghastly shoes would make a comeback, but they have somehow managed it. Well actually, Balenciaga managed it. Back in 2018, they put a whole new spin on the iconic Croc.

henationalnews.com

You would be surprised at what people are willing to pay for a pair of these. When they were first released, they sold out in record-breaking time, selling for a whopping $850 a pair! This is a sharp increase on the price of the original Croc, which you could purchase for $30 maximum. However, without a brand name like Balenciaga behind them, they didn’t stand a chance at being expensive.

Crazy Eyebrows

You have to admit, these eyebrows look pretty cool! In recent years, styling your eyebrows nicely has become a bit of an obsession. There is always a new style of eyebrow cropping up, some work, while others can be quite disturbing.

her.ie

While having well-groomed eyebrows can look really good, some people take it a little too far by doing things such as plaiting their eyebrows or shaving them off and drawing fake ones on in a strange pattern.

Extra Jumpsuit

We are on the fence with this one. We can’t figure out whether it is an epic failure or actually kind of cool. As you can imagine, this one has gained a lot of attention from influencers on social media. They have been posting photos of themselves wearing it and seem to be getting some good responses.

elitereaders.com

We are slightly relieved that the outfit is red rather than blue, since it is giving off serious Violet from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory vibes. While we are quite confused by this trend, it did make us laugh, so that’s something at least!

Shleggings

These are for people who don’t have the energy to put on a pair of socks and shoes as well as some trousers. What if it were possible to do all of this in one, killing not two but three birds with one stone? Introducing, shleggings! These are essentially leggings (or pants) and shoes all in one.

heraldweekly.com

They aren’t officially called this, but we have decided that it is an appropriate name for them. We think it could definitely catch on! By grabbing yourself a pair of these, you can save the money that you would otherwise spend on shoes and socks.

“RompHims” – One-Pieces For Men

Introducing, the “RompHim,” a romper made especially for men. How is it different to a romper, you might be asking. It is actually a lot more practical. The RompHim has a fly zip which means that you don’t have to take the whole outfit off in order to go to the toilet.

nypost.com

This staple outfit comes complete with adjustable tabs on the waist area to improve your look. It has been a bit of a hit, with the first release selling out in just one week. Who would have thought that there would be so much demand for a male romper!?

Big Knit Sweaters

Big chunky knit sweaters are actually very fashionable these days, but this one takes the trend a little too far. While it would certainly keep you warm, it looks very bizarre. We would be surprised if anyone could really pull this one off!

pinterest.ch

It is essentially like wearing a really thick blanket or sleeping bag – it probably weighs in at around 40-50 pounds! Perhaps this is one to just wear around the house on a cold winter’s evening rather than out and about.

A Sparkly Tongue

Presenting, glitter tongues! This is one that seems to be done just for the photo opportunities. It would certainly be a good marketing strategy, since it is hard to look away! Imagine spending the day with your mouth filled with glitter!

pressa.tv

This crazy trend apparently originated in Australia when a makeup artist accidentally got some glitter on her tongue and decided that it actually looked pretty cool. She then proceeded to cover her whole tongue in it for a photoshoot. The rest is history.

Huge Lips

There seems to be an unwritten agreement among women these days that, when it comes to lips, the bigger the better and some people will stop at nothing to get them. After Kylie Jenner got her new lips, many women around the world decided to do the same.

lifeandstylemag.com

People seemed to be of the opinion that if they got huge lips too, they would also get a following. Young girls looked to Instagram to find out how to achieve this. This marked the beginning of the #kyliejennerlipchallenge. People were putting their lips inside the top of water bottles so that they swelled up.

A Tote Bag From Ikea

Ikea’s branding is iconic and, as it turns out, actually quite fashionable. From bucket hats to purses, people have turned their reusable bags into fashion statements. They make for trendy accessories and you can also feel good wearing them since you are being eco-friendly at the same time.

thesun.co.uk

However, we are pretty much sold on the original bag since they are so big and spacious. They are very practical and you can fit literally anything in them. This definitely works in Ikea’s favour since people are constantly promoting the brand this way.

Lolita Fashion In Japan

Lolita began being a popular term in the 1970s. It describes a particular type of Japanese street style, which is largely influenced by Victorian clothing and styles from the Rococo period. It is a very distinctive style which looks adorable and is actually very modest.

j-fashion.fandom.com

The term itself is actually quite controversial. The word became a part of our culture after the eponymous novel by Vladimir Nabokov, in which an underage “nymphet” has a relationship with an older man.

Garbage Dress

If you are someone who is of the opinion that dry cleaning is too expensive and therefore a luxury, then we are certain that you wouldn’t want to purchase this $700 dress by Moschino. This sheer overlay dress came out as part of their Fall 2017 collections launch.

science-a2z.com

This dress was debuted among a collection of other items that were made from pieces of garbage. The Moschino website has this dress listed as a slip-on design. We certainly aren’t fooled! They even left the “We Love Our Customers” paper tag on the dress!

Butt Zipper Jeans

This next fashion statement is slightly reckless, if you ask us! Wearing these jeans means you must be hyper-aware at all times. Someone could walk up behind you at any point and unzip these jeans and then you’d be in big trouble!

amazon.in

We aren’t entirely sure what the purpose of this zipper is and we wonder how on earth anyone could comfortably sit in them. That zipper looks very painfully positioned! Some call it fashion, but we think it’s just plain impractical!

Eye Tattoos

This is one which comes with a warning: do not try this at home! It is an extremely dangerous trend. Scleral tattooing is the practice of tattooing the white part of the human eye (the sclera). If this procedure goes wrong, you could end up losing your entire eye.

inkedmag.com

The process starts by injecting a dye into the sclera. We can’t get on board with this one. In some places around the world, such as Oklahoma, this procedure is actually illegal. Let’s hope that more states follow suit!

Laced Shirt For Men

This next one is the perfect gift for the man in your life if you are mad at him or simply want to buy it for him for a laugh. We introduce to you, the lacy shirt for men, a decorative spin on the classic men’s button down shirt.

asos.com

We do wonder how this one came to be, in the first place. We don’t want to impose gender stereotypes on anyone, but we would definitely question a man’s fashion sense if he showed up wearing this…

All-In-One Pants

In the ’80s, high-waisted jeans were all the rage! Then in the 90s, low waisted pants replaced this trend. Since then, high-waisted jeans have made a bit of a comeback. These pants take high-waisted to a new level, quite literally.

pinterest.com

These high-waisted pants double as a shirt. Just whack on a pair of shoes and style it with a belt and you’ve got yourself a trendy outfit! It is essentially a jumpsuit marketed as full-body pants. It’s an interesting look, that’s for sure!

Spilt Paint Tights

When wearing dresses or skirts, tights are a staple, especially when the temperature starts to drop. Practicality aside, tights can add a certain “je ne sais quoi” to an outfit. Enter, the melting tights. These fun tights are designed to look as if you’ve spilled a whole bucket of paint down your legs!

velvetlola.wordpress.com

At about $50-60 per pair, these are an expensive way to accessorise. For a cool and colourful look, throw these on under a skirt. These are bound to attract some attention, even if people are just wondering whether you’ve had a paint-related accident.

The See-Through Skirt

Who would have thought that see-through would be so fashionable!? We have already seen clear knee’d pants and clear boots, and here we have a see-through, plastic skirt. This woman has accessorised it well and, we have to admit, she looks really cool.

heraldweekly.com

This clear skirt will doubtless turn some heads. If you decide to get yourself one of these, make sure you are wearing something presentable underneath. This one will leave absolutely nothing to the imagination.

Jean Thongs

This one is even more bold than the zipper jeans! It is made from a pair of deconstructed jeans and has been cut all the way up the back so that it looks like a big denim thong! The audience must have gone wild when this one appeared on the runway!

heraldweekly.com

If you are a fan of lingerie then this trend could be perfect for you! Initially, people went crazy for these, but they soon realised that they weren’t very practical. It wasn’t long before they became available for purchase as a Halloween costume. We can understand why!

Heelless Heels

We can’t understand how these can still be called heels when they don’t have a heel, but people do seem to be keen on them. You’d be surprised at how popular they are! High fashion designers, as well as smaller designers are continuing to produce them.

heraldweekly.com

These have got to be bad for your feet! Walking on your tiptoes is not the most natural thing in the world. Unless you’re a ballerina, you would probably be wise to avoid these at all costs. We are just looking out for you!

Converse Pants

If high top converse aren’t high enough for you, then you’ll absolutely love these. Converse pants are high tops that seem to go on forever. They go all the way up and act as trousers, as well as shoes. You get two for the price of one!

heraldweekly.com

These converse lace all the way up to your belt. While they look cool, these must be a nightmare to get on and off. We aren’t sure that we would have the patience for these! Perhaps there is a method that makes it easier.

Window Pants

This next bizarre fashion trend should only be worn by those who have the knees for it. Rather than the classic ripped knee look, these jeans have windows at the knees. Again, we wonder who came up with this one and how the idea came about.

menshealth.com

These strange jeans are sold at Nordstrom, a high-end retailer, so they must be fairly expensive. The product description on the website for these jeans states that the plastic panels reveal your knees and have a futuristic feel. We never would have guessed that knees were the future!

Huge Chanel Bags

The classic Chanel purse is iconic. It is a timeless classic that is actually more popular than you might think. It has been around for decades. Chanel have taken this bag one step further and brought out a line of purses that are really huge.

vogue.co.uk

They are definitely a statement, but we can’t imagine they are too practical. Imagine walking through a crowd of people with that on your shoulder! On the plus side, you could carry all sorts in one of these!

Heart On Your Butt

This one is sure to attract some attention at the gym. You’ve got to be pretty brave to wear this while you’re exercising! People are bound to do double-takes when they see this in the gym. It almost looks like an illusion!

overstock.com

These pants bring back memories of the 90s trend where people would wear pants with “juicy” or “love me” written on the butt. We think that this is a definite upgrade from that style, wouldn’t you agree!?

An Optical Jean Illusion

Does looking like a real-life optical illusion appeal to you? If yes, then these are the perfect jeans for you! For some bizarre reason, this pair of jeans has the illusion of being two pairs of jeans. Why? We aren’t entirely sure.

heraldweekly.com

These jeans come with two zippers, double sets of buttons and double pockets. Retailing at $880, these double jeans are turning up all over the place. This could be because you get two pairs of jeans for the price of one. This price seems a little much to look this ridiculous.

Endless Sleeves

We love a cosy long-sleeved hoodie or sweater. Not only do they keep your arms warm, but they can also look really cute if they are styled right. However, if the sleeves are too long, they can be a real nuisance and it’s easy to get them dirty. With sleeves this long, you’d constantly be worrying about this!

heraldweekly.com

In our humble opinion, designers have gone a little too far with this one. These sleeves would be good at keeping your hands warm on cold wintery days, but other than that, they are impractical and look a little silly. It’s a no from us!

See-Through Shirts

You better be careful which event you choose to wear this cheeky number to! We certainly wouldn’t recommend wearing it to an office party! These cool see-through shirts have become very popular in recent years.

dailymail.co.uk

Celebrities and models the world over have been rocking these on the red carpet, some even opt to wear nothing underneath! Whilst we wouldn’t advise wearing these with nothing on underneath, there are certainly ways to wear this wild trend and look good while doing it!

Shorts And Pants In One

Back in the 90s, it was seen as trendy to wear jeans that zipped off and turned into shorts. This trend is an updated (and more fashionable) version of that. If you can’t be bothered with finding the perfect pair of jeans and shorts, you should give these detachable jeans a try. They are regular jeans, except that they transform into cute denim cut-offs at the top.

tr.justinfeed.com

This trend is sure to turn some heads, it’s a very unique look. However, this is probably one of the less crazy denim trends we have seen up until this point – remember the denim thong!? It’s not one you are likely to forget.

Crop Top For Men

Crop tops are constantly turning up on the runway, whatever the season. Here, we introduce to you the crop top for men. We don’t know about you, but we think we prefer men’s shirts to cover their belly’s. We don’t really want to see a man’s belly hair poking out.

domesticatedcompanion.com

We can’t think of one good reason to reveal those beer bellies and snail trails! Even if you are a man with a six-pack, we’ll pass on the crop top, it’s a little too awkward for our liking. This is just a matter of preference though, we are sure there are women out there who would appreciate this look!

Nude Pants Or No Pants?

While we are on board with the leggings as trousers look, these leggings we aren’t so sure on. At first glance, it looks like you aren’t wearing pants. Nude is a risky colour, but some people seem to enjoy the attention.

upbeatnews.com

Wearing sporty clothes has become fashion and we can understand why – it’s easy, comfortable and it makes you look sporty. However, these gym leggings pose a problem. From a distance, this woman looks as if she is completely naked, but maybe that’s just part of the fun!

A Bikini For Your Face

This trend will leave you stunned. Designed by Chinese accountant, Zhang Shifan and very popular in Asia, the face bikini protects your skin from harmful sun rays. While it may look quite silly, it is actually an appropriate safety measure in the eyes of a lot of asians.

flipboard.com

While we can understand the purpose of it, we aren’t sure that it’s worth it, considering just how silly you look. These women might as well be wearing balaclavas. We would rather stick to wearing some SPF and a hat.

The Fanny Pack

This one is a serious throwback to the 80s. The iconic fanny pack is making a huge comeback. High-end designers are bringing these to the market and people are absolutely loving it! We aren’t sure about this particular fanny pack, but we can get on board with the trend.

daily-choices.com

This one is absolutely huge and filled with an unnecessary amount of padding. The return of the fanny pack is great, but this one is a little bit much. A small fanny pack is perfect for carrying around the things you need to keep close to you at all times.

In Tokyo, Your Grandparent’s Fashion Is Considered Cool

Street fashion in Tokyo tends to provide some serious entertainment. Year upon year, the Japanese come out with some interesting fashion trends, some cool, others a little bit crazy. They love bright colours and layering.

daily-choices.com

The styles are constantly changing. The above outfits were spotted during Tokyo Fashion Week, back in 2018. We think they’re pretty cool! We don’t know how he’s doing it, but the one on the left looks weirdly fashionable in that yellow stitched number, even if he does slightly resemble a grandma!

Sparkly Beards

Men, if you are looking to jazz up your beard, then we have the perfect solution for you: the glitter beard! This one is bound to turn some heads. We could all do with a little extra sparkle in our lives and this is one way to do it!

daily-choices.com

Achieving the perfect glitter beard is simple. Choose any colour of glitter, dip your beard into the glitter and you’ve got yourself a sparkly beard! With the glitter beard, you’ll leave a little sparkle wherever you go!

Transparent Boots

Love him or hate him, Kanye West is, undeniably, a bit of an icon. These bizarre boots were released as part of his famous Yeezy collection. While they cost a whopping $700 a pair, we aren’t all that surprised at how quickly they sold out! People will pay big money to wear the Yeezy name.

pinterest.com

These clear boots are made of PVC and when they were released, people went mad for them. They appeared on the feeds of all of our favourite Instagram influencers. Everyone wanted to be the first to show off their very own pair of these ridiculous boots. The heel of the boot is made from Pexiglas – we can’t imagine that this is all that comfortable!

Mud-stained Jeans

We can’t get our heads around this one! The designers at PRPS decided to produce a pair of jeans that are meant to look as if they have mud stains all over them. You wouldn’t expect these to be a success, but they certainly were. They completely sold out!

heraldcourier.com

We’re hoping that not many of these pairs of jeans were produced. Perhaps the idea was that people would wear them as a joke or for a Halloween costume. If we saw someone wearing these awful jeans, we would definitely judge them for it!

The Star Trek Look

In Canada, the strangest trend in terms of body modification had been discovered by mod lovers. However, it didn’t last long there, and now it is mostly found in Japan, in their underground scene. It is also known as “Bagel Head.”

upbeatnews.com

The procedure involves having saline injected into your skin. This leaves you with a bulge in your forehead, which, luckily, is only temporary. This can then be shaped into anything you want. This particular one is shaped to look like a bagel.

Ripped Stockings

This is one of the less shocking trends on our list in today’s context. However, we’re certain that any working woman from the 40s or 50s would be horrified if they saw this. There was a time when even the slightest rip in an item of clothing was frowned upon. How the times have changed.

daily-stuff.com

Ripped stockings have started to become a symbol of ‘indifferent coolness’, and nowadays, this is a trend that you see all the time. Who would have thought that ripped clothing would actually become really fashionable!?

The Clear Plastic Jeans

We are a little hesitant to call these jeans, since they are made of plastic. There is no denim involved whatsoever. This look essentially involves wearing a plastic bag on your legs. They were released by Topshop back in 2017.

realitytvworld.com

If you do fancy getting yourself a pair of these, make sure you have something stylish to wear underneath, since these trousers are about showing off your under garments. What we do like about them, is that they would be great in the rain. They can be bought for $100 a pop, quite a lot for a bit of plastic wouldn’t you agree!?

‘Fried Chicken Leg’ Pants

We wish this was a joke, but sadly it isn’t. There is actually a pair of trousers modelled on fried chicken legs! You can get yourself a pair on Amazon for just 5 pounds. They are actually becoming quite the trend.

heraldweekly.com

If you’re bold enough to sport these ridiculous trousers, we’re sure they’re very comfortable! They are also a very flattering fit. If slender isn’t for you, then these are  definitely a good alternative!

Crotchless Jeans

More appropriately referred to as ‘cowboy chaps’ by some, these crotchless jeans were introduced by ASOS in 2018. These cost £75 a pair and, according to a model who spent an entire day wearing them around the city, they make you feel ‘liberated and risky.’

yahoo.com

Call us old-fashioned, but isn’t covering all of your legs one of the main reasons for wearing pants? You’ll have to make sure you’re wearing some good quality, sophisticated underwear if you want to give these a try.

Balenciaga’s Car Mat Skirt

We know you must be thinking, “why on earth is that model wearing a car mat around her waist,” but this is actually a skirt and supposedly quite fashionable. Produced in 2017 by luxury fashion house, Balenciaga, this is actually called the ‘Car Design Skirt.’

tag-walk.com

This bizarre number could be yours for the modest sum of $2,495. Would you believe it!? Anything with a brand name behind it, like Balenciaga, will sell for a lot of money, whatever it is! You could even get yourself a $5 car freshener as an accessory!

The Torso-Less Jumper

We all love a sleeveless shirt, but what about shirtless sleeves!? Believe it or not, this is actually a thing. Calvin Klein started selling these “torso-less” jumpers in 2017 for the whopping price of $2000!

elespanol.com

This is quite the fashion statement, but it’s not the most practical if you ask us. It doesn’t make sense to just keep your arms warm, what about your poor, freezing torso!? It’s a resounding no from us on this one.

The Strawhat Dress

If you’re preparing for a summer vacation, then this could be the perfect fashion trend for you. What items do you always need on a summer vacation? A straw hat and a breezy dress, yes? With this outfit, you can have both rolled into one! Famous French luxury designer, Jacquemus, introduced the strawhat dress to the runway back in 2017. On it, there are eight straw hats stitched together, with black ribbons as the straps.

pinterest.ca

If $3000 is slightly over your budget, you could always grab yourself some straw hats and material to sew them together and make one yourself! We are slightly sceptical about this one, surely all that straw against your body is itchy!? How would you wash it? How would you even sit down!? The questions are endless…

Margiela’s Pre-Destroyed Sneakers

We can’t quite believe that this one really exists. Who in their right mind would want to wear a pair of shoes that look as if they’ve been chewed up by dogs!? More people than you think apparently, including Kim Kardashian herself! A pair of these could be yours for $1,425. We are sure that Kim Kardashian’s influence is a big part of the popularity of these shoes.

teenvogue.com

There is one positive to wearing these shoes, however. If you’re late for a class or a job interview, you can actually come out with the excuse: “I’m sorry, I was late because my dog chewed my shoes,” and actually have the evidence to back this claim up.

The Duvet/Poncho

While this may not be the sexiest outfit in the world, we are actually loving this duvet/poncho fashion trend that British fashion design house, Mulberry, brought out in 2017! Though the model looks slightly terrifying.

sarcasm.co

This is essentially a duvet cover with a hole for your head to go through at the top. It looks extremely comfortable, although it is probably worth around 10 times what your actual duvet cover costs. If you’re into this look, it might be wise to make your own!

Chainsaw Tulle Couture

This crazy fashion trend was released by Amsterdam-based fashion company, Viktor & Rolf in 2010, as part of their Spring collection. It is exactly what it looks like: a high-couture tulle dress with sections that have been hacked out by a chainsaw. It’s not just a dress either, it’s an entire collection! This is definitely one of the most shocking.

pinterest.co.uk

Aside from Katy Perry wearing this exact dress at an awards show, there have been a few A-list celebrity sightings, and, amusingly, people have actually tried to replicate this dress at home. At least it’s got a good ventilation system!

Asymmetrical Jeans

Are you constantly unable to decide whether you’re in the mood to wear skinny jeans or baggy ones? If so, a Ukrainian fashion brand has come up with the perfect solution to your troubles! They have produced asymmetrical jeans, which have one tight leg and one wide leg!

ladbible.com

These jeans are a combination of two completely different denim styles in one single pair of jeans! Pretty cool, don’t you think!? If one of these styles ends up going out of style, at least half of your outfit will still be fashionable!

The One-legged Jeans

Apparently regular jeans don’t quite cut it anymore. Perhaps they are too conservative and therefore not reckless enough. The solution to this problem? Cut off one of the legs. This is a fashion trend that started in 2019.

timesnownews.com

There are already a fair few women rocking these in Ukraine and other neighbouring countries. We definitely prefer the two-legged denim jeans, but, each to their own, as they say! This woman’s just about pulling it off, although she doesn’t look too happy about it!

The Cage Pants

Fashion Nova is a brand that’s renowned for its bold, if slightly reckless, creations. We think that perhaps this time, they have gone a little too far. Take a look at the cage trousers! This is for those times when you just can’t decide between wearing a skirt or trousers. These give you the best of both worlds.

daily-choices.com

It defeats the purpose of wearing trousers a little bit, but it does look kind of cool, if you’re into see-through things. It also looks as if it might be waterproof, which is always handy. We could be open to these.

The Meat Knee Patches

This is, without a doubt, the weirdest trend on our list. It seems that simply having ripped knee patches got boring! Why would you want to eat meat when you can just as easily wear it on your knees?

ladiestory.id

We aren’t too sure how this one came about and we don’t think we really want to know. We’re all for experimentation when it comes to fashion, but this is one step too far! This is enough to make you want to become a vegetarian!

The Sock Sneakers

This one involved the collaboration of two high-end brands, Vetements and Reebok. These two joined forces to create the ultimate combination: socks and sneakers, otherwise known as the ‘sock sneaker.’ Weird, right!? This literally looks as if a sock has grown soles underneath it of its own accord.

daily-choices.com

It’s for those who aren’t too keen on putting cold shoes over the top of their warm socks in the mornings, or for those who forget to wear socks with their sneakers. We can appreciate that these might be very practical for some, but we aren’t convinced that they are the height of fashion.

The See-through Plastic Shoes

This trend has been around for a while now and is making a serious comeback. This is for people who really like how their feet look. However, they don’t look too comfortable, or breathable, for that matter.

gmcshahdol.org

While these shoes do look quite chic and futuristic, after walking around in these for an hour, the novelty will definitely start to wear off once you’re feet are all sweaty. We don’t think it’s at all worth it!

Alien Shoes

These are an interesting one. They look as if they have come out of a cyberpunk, spice girl closet. We can imagine Milla Jovovich in the Fifth Element wearing these. They are a real statement. They made their first debut in a runway show in Milan some years back. Dsquared 2 is the brand who came up with them.

insider.com

While we do appreciate how colourful they are, we are going to have to pass on this one. We aren’t so sure about the half sports shoe, half heel vibe. We wouldn’t know what occasion to wear them for, a sports event or a fancy dinner?

Plastic Handbags

Most women have owned a see-through handbag at some point in their lives, but mostly when they were young. The plastic handbag has, in fact, made a comeback. We never thought we’d see the day, but there we go!

hidracthair.com

We can’t deny that these are very unique, but we aren’t sure about everyone being able to see all of our personal possessions! One thing we do like about them, however, is the fact that they go with everything!

Eye Jewellery

This is another trend that we definitely wouldn’t recommend trying at home. The Dutch decided that we don’t incorporate our eyes into our fashion enough and that this needed to change. They came up with the idea of sticking small studs (made from metal) onto their eyeballs.

pinterest.cl

This trend started in the Netherlands over eight years ago. While the Dutch claim that this is completely safe, eye doctors around the world completely disagree. They say that ‘beauty is pain’, but, when it comes to sticking things on your eyeballs for fashion, we think it’s best to steer clear.

Manba

Japan is renowned the world over for its strange fashion trends. This one is no exception. Known as Manba, this is a trend that is popular among teenage Japanese girl who date men who have a fetish for the Minstrel Show. This trend, as you’ve probably already guessed, consists of having dark skin and using heavy makeup.

en.wikipedia.org

Manba lovers paint their whole faces in a dark brown tone, contour their eyes with bright white paint and dye their hair vibrant colours. They also wear very bright outfits and pastel coloured makeup. You can’t miss them, that’s for sure!

Blackberry Bag

Who doesn’t love blackberries!? They’re juicy and fun to pick, but we aren’t sure that we love them enough to have a handbag that looks like it’s made from them. Introducing, the blackberry purse. Do you think that someone was just eating some one day and thought ‘wouldn’t this look great as a handbag?’ We would love to know how it came about.

yatzer.com

We would definitely award the designers points for originality, but we aren’t sure it works too well, wouldn’t you just want to eat them the whole time!? You could also be at risk of being attacked by a hungry bird – if you plan to wear this bag, you’ll have to keep your wits about you!

“Shoe Laces”

We can’t tell whether this is a Bergamasco or a shoe. We are half expecting a dog’s face to pop out from underneath the rope. This shoe gives laces a whole new meaning. It isn’t at all aesthetically pleasing and, if anything, it looks quire hazardous.

domesticatedcompanion.com

If you accidentally stepped on one of the pieces of rope whilst walking, which is quite possible, you could end up having a nasty accident. Just look at the size of that heel! The shoes would be cool if it weren’t for all that unnecessary rope.

Fluffy Nails

The possibilities of what you can do with your nails are endless. We can get on board with crazy colours, stick-ons, jewellery and beads, but this, we aren’t so sure about. Just imagine how difficult it must be to access a scratch underneath the fluff!

4tololo.ru

It actually looks as if you have some kind of issue with your hormones. We don’t know how anyone thinks that this is a good look. The only positive thing is that they must be quite fun to play with. They look nice and soft!

Siamese Shoes

This shoe is built for someone with two feet on the end of one leg. While some people have deformities on their feet, such as a missing toe or an additional toe, we have never come across anyone who has two feet facing opposite directions, so this look we cannot understand.

reddit.com

We can’t understand why anyone would think it might look cool to double up a shoe, it’s just confusing. Although, perhaps it could be handy if you are trying to escape from someone and you don’t want them to know which direction you are running in.

The Toe Shoe

Here we have the toe shoe. We can probably all agree that these shoes are absolutely hideous. However, they do have their uses. They move dynamically and minimise extra materials around the foot, so they are good for running.

fixflatfeet.com

We can only hope that people would wear them strictly for athletic purposes. They are certainly not fashionable and should only be seen on someone who is running very fast on a running track, nowhere else.

Fit For A Jester

Some fashion trends are only meant for a certain period in history and should be left in that period. This is the case with these pointy velvet shoes. They date back to the 15th century and are originally a French shoe. They should not still be worn today.

wikitranslators.com

However, they could be good for fancy dress, if you want to look like a 15th century European nobleman, that is. Get yourself a pair of red tights, a puffy white shirt and maybe some kind of leather-suede waistcoat and you’ll look the part!

Emo Extreme

A lot of people have gone through a slightly Emo phase at one stage or another during the course of their lives, whether this means just dying their hair slightly pink, or listening to Blink 182 excessively, but this is one step too far. There’s no need for the extremely heavy eyeliner and stripy hair! Whatever happened to natural beauty anyway!?

heraldweekly.com

At the age of 16, the Emo style can look quite cool, but this we aren’t so sure about. This girl has basically got a striped beehive for hair. The picture quality suggests that it was taken on a 2008 flip phone, so we might be able to forgive her this time.

The Denim Look

Not many people could have pulled this look off as well as Britney did. Back then, Britney and Justin could get away with just about anything, but this look was a little too much. The famous pop power couple overdid it in this particular instance. What’s with the denim fedora, Justin!?

elle.com

We understand that when you have that much influence, you can pull off just about anything, but this is just silly. We’re wondering who to blame, them or their awful stylists at that time. This incident should definitely stay in the past.

The Ashlee Suit

Ashlee Simpson had a go at recreating the classic formal wear look by being shirtless, with a waistcoat, a tie, and fingerless gloves. This look isn’t quite doing it for us, unfortunately. It could perhaps work if she removed the gloves and put a nice shirt on underneath.

news.line.me

This was years ago, so we will let her get away with it. We’ve all had our dodgy fashion moments and this was hers. This is definitely another example of a trend that needs to stay buried in the past (sorry for bringing it up!)

Camouflage

Camouflage is a fantastic invention. It allows you to sneak through bushes completely unnoticed. You can avoid your enemies this way, as your clothes will help you to blend in with the background. Unless of course, you’re Paris Hilton.

twitter.com

We can’t imagine that Paris would blend into the background in this number, unless the background was candy floss, perhaps. This skin-tight “camo” dress is a little too bright and would likely draw more attention to her than anything else.

The Dreaded Uggs

Thankfully, this dodgy trend has long since died a death, but there was a time when you couldn’t go anywhere without seeing these. This trend became even worse when less expensive brands started producing knock-off versions of the original shoe. The quality was awful and they would always end up looking like they do in the below picture.

imgur.com

These shoes were more like slippers than anything else, they didn’t have real soles. Everywhere Ugg-footed wannabees would roam the streets with collapsing heels and grubby and matted faux sheep wool.

The Tree Shirt

While we will accept the fact that everyone is allowed to have one slightly dodgy Christmas jumper, this one takes it that bit too far. We can understand people wearing jumpers with reindeers or snowmen on the front but there’s no need to dress up as an actual Christmas tree!

goodhousekeeping.com

Perhaps it could be fun to wrap some lights around the sweater and put a star on your head and see whether anyone notices that you aren’t actually a Christmas tree. Do you want to find out? We certainly don’t…

Enter The Dragon

This is one intense jacket, fit for a martial arts fighter, or perhaps a biker? While we can appreciate it’s quite artsy, with its bold gold and silver design, we would be quite intimidated by anyone wearing it.

pinterest.com

It could also be a great uniform for a gang member! It screams “stay away”, whether that be simply because its hideous, or because you wouldn’t want to cross anyone wearing that jacket. Either way, this one’s a big fat no from us.

The Scrunchy

This one’s another relic of the past. Thousands of years from now, archaeologists will still be digging up scrunchies, this bizarre hairband that thankfully only lasted a few years. There is really no need for a hairband to be so puffy.

nl.pinterest.com

After being dug up, it could well end up in some museum where people will gaze upon it, questioning 80s fashion trends and wondering why anyone in their right mind would want to wear a puffy velvet hairband.

The Puffy Jacket

These jackets are often worn with a scrunchy as an accessory. We aren’t too sure where to look, there is so much going on! We definitely prefer the mens’ jackets over the womens’, the pink and blue is a little bit too garish.

thesun.co.uk

There is so much going on in this picture, that we almost missed the leather pants. We didn’t know leather and denim was a thing until now and we aren’t too sure how we feel about it, not to mention the positioning of the denim!

Crochet

Considering giving your grandmother’s old blankets a bit of a makeover and turning them into some cool new dresses? If so, stop right there, please! This design belongs in an old lady’s bedroom, not on your body.

fashionista.com

While we can appreciate that the design of these dresses is quite adorable, there are definitely materials out there that would be a lot more appropriate and would look a lot better. Nonetheless, we do admire the creativity.

Blue Snake Shoes

This is a strange one. There is far too much going on here, if you ask us. They have taken several different styles and combined them with one another to create this odd looking shoe. The heels themselves look like the legs of an oak coffee table, and we aren’t sold on the snaky design either.

redfredcreative.com

We aren’t too sure why they went ahead with the lace-up style, a nice open heel would have made them look a lot nicer, but it’s too late for that now. Maybe a dressing up box would be an appropriate place for these shoes.

Blue Camouflage

Here we have another camouflage look. It’s not quite so out there as Paris Hilton’s pink camouflage outfit, but these would be sure to turn some heads. Imagine wearing these to the battlefield, you’d actually look quite fashionable.

militarykit.com

These come in all sorts of different colours, from orange, to pink, to grey, but these are probably our favourite. Again, they wouldn’t be all that useful if you actually wanted to be camouflage, unless you were camouflaging against the sky.

Shutter Shades

We don’t think we will ever get our head around these. They don’t make any sense at all, but they have been popular for years. People loved to sport them at parties and club events. They do seem to complete this guy’s look, we’ll give him that.

complex.com

They were first made popular in the early 1980s by professional wrestler ‘Macho Man Randy Savage’, as he tended to wear them before matches and in promos. Kanye West later sported them, in 2007, in the music video for his hit song, ‘Stronger.’ As a result, the term ‘shutter shades’ is now synonymous with ‘Kanye West glasses.’
