After their mother shared photos of them on Instagram, Megan and Morgan Boyd, otherwise known as the “Trueblue Twins”, became Internet sensations. Their mother, Stephanie, nicknamed them the “Trueblue Twins” on account of their beautiful blue eyes.

Birth
The twins were born on June 6, 2011. It didn’t take their mum long to realise that there was something very special about her lovely daughters. The girls were born with the most incredible eyes, such that people were always stopping to admire them.

Stephanie couldn’t have been happier to welcome the pair into the world. Already, she loved them more than anything in the world and she couldn’t wait to take care of them and watch them grow and change.
“Trueblue Twins”
It is fairly common for parent’s of twins to give them a nickname. This often tends to be their last name followed by “sisters,” “brothers,” or “twins.” However, the “Boyd Sisters” just doesn’t cut the mustard.

Their mother was sure that they would later become stars, so she decided that they needed a nickname that stood out. She began calling them the “Trueblue Twins” for their unique blue eyes and the nickname stuck.
Eye-Catching
As most new moms do, Stephanie loved to share photos of her baby girls on social media. She was so proud of them and wanted all of her family and friends to see. Everyone was in awe of their beauty and a lot of likes began to accumulate on each photo she uploaded.

Stephanie has quite the eye for fashion, as is clear from the photos. The twins are always looking stylish. Luckily, the difference in their eyes means that it is easy to tell these two apart. Without the difference in eyes, it would be another story.
Fashion Icons
Stephanie likes to take the time to carefully select the twins’ outfits each morning. She likes them to look glamorous. She styles their hair and adds various cute accessories. They even have their ears pierced!

While Stephanie is a busy mum, she still manages to find the time to shop and keep the girls’ wardrobes updated. The pair give off the impression that they are mini celebrities with all their style and glamour!
Rare Eyes
Since it is quite rare for black people to have blue eyes, people often assume that any African-American with blue eyes is wearing coloured eye contacts. However, this is not the case for these two ladies. They are 100% natural.

They were born this way. For Stephanie, the fact that her daughters were born with this rare gene makes them all the more special. Stephanie also has blue eyes so this is obviously where her girls got them from.
Unique Eyes
You will notice that one of the Trueblue twins, Morgan, has eyes of different colours. One matches the stunning blue colour of her sister’s, while the other is brown. This is a rare genetic condition, known as heterochromia.

This trait means the girls aren’t 100% identical. This makes things a whole lot easier for their friends and family! Unfortunately for them, this means that they can’t get away with having some fun and switching classes at school.
Heterochromia
One of the reasons that people are so drawn to the twins is their eyes, especially Morgan’s. This isn’t a condition a people often come across, so they tend to be quite interested in it. People who have never seen this before do a double take when they see it for the first time.

Heterochromia iridium is often cause by injury or trauma to the eye, but in Morgan’s case, she was born with it. Her eyesight is completely normal. According to historians, Alexander the Great also had this condition.
Modelling Career
You might be wondering whether this condition could set Morgan back in her modelling career. However, it seems to have the opposite effect. This trait sets her apart from other girls, making her even more appealing as a model.

If anything, it has helped her to acquire new opportunities! There are many stars who also have heterochromia, including actresses Kate Bosworth, Mila Kunis and Alice Eve. Robert Downey Jr., Simon Pegg, and Henry Cavill also carry this rare gene.
Genetic
Much like the gene for the blue pigment in the girls’ eyes, the heterochromia iridium gene also runs in the girls’ family. The twins are biracial and this particular gene is present on the caucasian side of their family.

The twins’ great aunt and uncle also have different coloured eyes, but neither of them are biracial like the Trueblue twins. This makes Morgan’s condition even more rare since the condition is typically seen in people of European descent with lighter skin.
Insta-fame
When the Trueblue Twins’ mother first started posting pictures of the girls on her social media, they always received plenty of likes. However, it wasn’t until one particular user with a considerably large following shared an image of the twins that they became Insta-famous.

Musician and tattoo artist, Deyone Hunter, posted a photo of the twins on his own Instagram and his followers went mad! One particular photo ended up gaining over 2,000 likes in just one day! As a result, many of these users headed over to Stephanie’s account and gave her a follow.
Viral Sensation
As the twins gained more and more attention on social media, fans started to get creative. One particular follower created a video collage of the twins using photos from Stephanie’s profile. The girls’ father, Lovell Knight, later went on to share the video.

The video resulted in a whopping 6.6 million views! The twins had become a viral sensation, just like that. Their parents were so proud of their beautiful girls and excited for what was in store for them in the future.
Attention From Hollywood
Internet users were blown away by the twins’ beauty. It wasn’t long before the pair had attracted the attention of Hollywood stars! Actress Meagan Good and comedian D.L Hughley both shared a photo of Megan and Morgan with their followers.

The Three Musketeers
The Trueblue Twins also have a younger brother. The girls love to spend time with their family who have a very tight-knit relationship. The three kids love to travel around their hometown of Philadelphia and beyond.

Their mother is relieved that they haven’t let the fame get to them. They haven’t grown up too quickly and still enjoy the same silly and fun things that other girls of their age do, such as eating candy and messing about.
Best Friends
The girls are still very young and don’t quite have a handle on what it truly means to be famous. They don’t have their own phones or social media profiles, which is probably a good thing since this could get a little overwhelming for them. They reportedly told their teacher that they were famous on “NewTube.” How adorable!

The pair have a very loving relationship and would consider themselves best friends. This doesn’t mean that they have the exact same interests, however. Morgan loves putting on her own “fashion shows” and pretending to walk the catwalk. Megan loves to get her hair done before having photos taken.

The girls take after their mum in that they have a real passion for fashion! It helps that they have an incredible wardrobe. They have always been nicely dressed by their mother, but since becoming models, their wardrobe has become even more exciting!

One of the twins’ trademarks is their stylish hair. Their hair is very versatile which means they can experiment with it. Their mother loves to do different things with their hair, including braids, bows and bantu knots.

As mentioned previously, the girls have done some promotional work, taking photos with products which they then get to keep. Their mother is careful to choose the right products to endorse. She likes to make sure that they are in line with the girls’ look.

It is incredible how much free stuff they have access to. They have even started saving funds for their future with the money they are paid for promotional work. We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for these lovely girls!

No matter what the circumstances or where the girls are, they are always ready to strike a pose for the camera. They love to pose for their mother when she takes photos of them on her camera phone, even at the supermarket!

Mini Rihanna’s
Fans of the Trueblue twins have remarked on the girls bearing some resemblance to the Barbadian singer, Rihanna. It transpires that this is actually intentional. Their mother is a big fan of Rihanna and deliberately styled their hair to look like hers in this photo.

Halloween Fun
