Getting revenge on someone who has wronged you has to be the sweetest feeling in the world and it gets even better when it’s for your ex! Dino was a young hard-working man who had felt the sting of a difficult break-up.

But rather than focus his energy on moving on, he was prepared to go to extreme lengths to get even. It all started or more appropriately ended when Dino sent his ex, Andrea a letter with just three specific words written in it.

Dino, The “Nice Guy”

Dino had spent most of his adult life, working and staying out of trouble, his friends described him as a ” nice, quiet guy”. He was goal-oriented from a young age and had made plans for his whole life, leading everyone to feel that he had a good head on his shoulders.

The biggest difference between Dino and most guys his age was that he was smart with money. He didn’t believe in extravagant purchases and had already invested in a condominium which he paid for in full.

His Work Was His Life

His life was going right on track and that was majority because of his job as an oil rig worker. While it isn’t a lucrative career on paper when you compare the cost-benefits of it with other jobs, it feels like a secure and successful option and of course, Dino knew all that.

Yet one of the biggest downsides is the time spent away from home and that meant that Dino’s social life had suffered due to his unpredictable schedule. Not everyone was understanding of him being away for months, especially his far and few girlfriends.

Not Like His Friends

Life on the oil rig was one which was chaotic and ever-changing from work shifts to girlfriends, Dino’s friends had an ever-changing set of “girlfriends” but Dino never understood nor wanted such a lifestyle.

He was waiting for his someone special and patience had always been his strongest traits, so it felt worth the wait. And when the perfect girl did walk into his life, the shy Dino knew that his strongest trait had led him right into true love’s arms.

His Girl

Dino’s friends referred to this woman by some colourful names, we don’t want to repeat here but for the purpose of this article, we will call her Andrea. According to Dino’s friends, she was a beautiful woman who was “centrefold hot” while Dino was “a bit ordinary-looking, and kind of shy.”

Naturally, all his co-workers at the oil rig couldn’t believe that Dino had found himself a stable girlfriend, so out of his league. It seemed like his life was turning out to be exactly how he had planned.

But Something Was Wrong

Of course, you already know that something did go very wrong because who even writes about fairy tales anymore? The first person to notice that Andrea wasn’t as good as she seemed was Dino’s friend and according to him she “raised the hair on the back of my neck.”

It didn’t take look for Dino to also pick-up on Andrea’s jarring personality traits, he later said that she was “one of the most self-centred, attention gathering people I had ever met.”

The Next Step

Despite, his friend’s initial hesitation it seemed like Andrea and Dino were happy and when Dino went home from another stint at the oil rig, the pair decided to move in together to Dino’s condo.

This seemed like the natural step but in hindsight was the catalysts which caused this relationship to fall apart. “She was smart, all right,” Dino’s friend said, “you could tell that in 5 minutes of conversing with her. But she was devastatingly gorgeous, knew it, and was very skilled at manipulating the people around her”.

Odd Purchases

Even though his friends had quite choice things to say about Andrea, Dino ignored them all until he saw his bank statement. The couple had decided to share a joint card to take care of household expenses but it was mainly funded by Dino.

“He was seeing stuff on his bank statements,” Dino’s buddy recalled, “like a $300 grocery purchase, and then another $200 grocery purchase a couple of days later” He continued “Either she was eating $500 worth of groceries a week or she was pumping cash-backs from the grocery store into her purse.”

Money Hungry

It was becoming increasingly clear to Dino that his girlfriend was not as innocent as she seemed. Each week that went by, Andrea was spending more and more money at the “grocery store”, leaving Dino more and more suspicious.

Always good with numbers, Dino knew that something was off but before he could comfort her, Dino was called away for work. Thinking time apart would solve the issues at hand, little did Dino knew that things were about to get much worst.

Going Away

During their sporadic calls, Andrea seemed distant and standoffish, while she was never a ray of sunshine her behaviour was even worst than before and soon Dino began to suspect that Andrea was being unfaithful.

After all, she had ample opportunity to maintain an affair when he was away, not to mention she also had access to his money. So, one day he decided to give her a “surprise” visit a few days early than expected.

His Instincts Were Right

As it turned out, Dino’s instincts were right on the money. He had a pretty decent idea of what would be waiting for him at home, so he asked the condominium association’s security guard to come up with him to be a witness.

Of course, Andrea didn’t expect him home for a couple more days, so when Dino showed up with a security guard in hand, she and her “guest” were caught by complete surprise and Dino knew he was being played.

Staying Calm

Despite the prospect of finding his girlfriend alone with another man, Dino maintained his cool. His friend said after he caught Andrea with her lover at his condo, Dino “didn’t go off and didn’t lose his temper, to his credit”

” (He) just told the guy to get out. Then he told Andrea to get out, too. He handed her the key to a hotel room, 50 bucks for cab fare, and told her to leave.” But Andrea had other plans.

Melodramatic Andrea

As Dino’s friend recalled, Andrea was “screaming, crying apologizing, and proclaiming her love for him in one breath, and cursing him with the next.” Which was all met with level-headedness from Dino.

“Call the police,” Dino told the security guard. “The cops arrived at about the same time as the locksmith,” Dino’s friend explained. Andrea wasn’t on the lease, so once the police verified who owned the home they removed her.

Starting Over

The next step for Dino was to start moving on but remembering Andrea’s tantrums, he knew he had to two a few things first to protect himself. He called the bank to cancel the card he had given her and took all of Andrea’s things and had them placed in a storage unit.

In the background, Andrea was also keeping herself busy…. by constantly calling Dino and begging him to take her back and when he stopped picking up her calls, she eventually started showing up at his building!

She Came Back!

Rather than spend another minute listening to Andrea’s lies, Dino simply handed the key to the storage unit to his doorman and instructed him to give Andrea all the appropriate details. Rather than admit defeat, this only flared Andrea’s rage!

She wasn’t going to just sit around and be stubbed by her ex-boyfriend. She was humiliated and felt like she had been wronged and it was time to get even. Poor Dino had no idea what was waiting in store for him.

His Pride And Joy

As we mentioned above, Dino had always saved and spent his money wisely. What we didn’t mention was that besides his condo, his other biggest purchase had been a white Chevy Monte Carlo.

And yes, you can probably guess already why we need to provide this tidbit of information. Several weeks after the breakup, Dino returned home and found his car completely wrecked “Four flat tires, a smashed windshield, and a can of red paint had been poured over it.”

Furious But Patient

Dino knew that there was only one person he knew who would stoop to doing such a thing and while no proof could be found that it was Andrea behind all this, his gut instincts led him to believe so.

But rather than go to Andrea and give her the attention, she clearly craved Dino decided to be patient… again. Without missing a beat, Dino returned to work and his life and it seemed like all was forgiven by him but Dino knew that soon he would find an opening, somewhere, anywhere to strike one final blowback at his ex-girlfriend!

The Perfect Opportunity

He found just that, two years after their break-up he found out that Andrea was getting married. Dino had a eureka moment and asked his friend, Nancy to help him plot his revengeful scheme.

She already knew the inside details of Andrea and her wild ways and soon became a co-conspirator along with Dino, and together they made sure that what was supposed to be the best day in Andrea’s life would be the worst day!

A Helpful Hand

It seemed like Dino had not forgotten a single word Andrea had said, instead he had become a scornful shell of his old “good guy” persona and was ready to get his revenge. We think this was a petty decision which led to the downfall of both him and Andrea.

Nancy was still friends with Andrea and when she received the invitation to the wedding, with it she also received her address. She gave it to Dino and soon began slow torture, which makes us second-guess if whatever Dino did was even worth it, in the end.

Three Words

What he did was truly bad, about a month before the wedding, Dino sent an anonymous letter in the mail. In the envelope was a picture of a Monte Carlo, a wedding dress, and a ketchup packet.

There’s a single sheet of paper, with just three simple words written on it, Red on White. It was a clear message to Andrea that what goes around comes back around and it totally worked. Andrea knew exactly who the letter was from and was terrified.

Scare Tactics

Getting even a mascara smudge on your wedding dress is every bride’s worst nightmare and for Andrea, who was already hyper-focused on her looks this was something incomprehensible.  The three simple words changed Andrea to the core. It seemed like Dino’s plan was working but he wasn’t done just yet.

The pair still had many mutual friends and Dino easily found out the name of the store where Andrea was getting her dress. He went to the store “and asked the guy if he wanted to make an easy hundred bucks. All he had to do is call Andrea, and tell her that they need her to come to the shop and choose the red lace trim for her gown”.

Was It The Fiancé?

“Andrea showed up 20 minutes later, freaking out, and demanding to know what this was about,” Dino’s friend continued. “The guy said he got a call from her fiancé and ordered the red lace for the dress”.

Andrea knew that it wasn’t the fiancé who had made the call, in fact, she had a pretty good idea of who was behind this sabotage. She was freaking out and with good reason; her fears of her ex staining her white dress with red paint was soon turning into a matter of “when.” rather than “if”.

She Was Freaking Out

With the wedding approaching and the bride-to-be freaking out, Dino waited until a couple of weeks were left until the big day. Nancy had a “slip up” and told Andrea that a friend of Dino’s worked at the company hired to cater the food for Andrea’s wedding.

She naturally flipped out and “immediately removed the pasta dishes that had tomatoes in it and even removed them from the salads in fear that Dino’s “buddy” might dump a plate on her”.

Paranoia Sets In

“Dino had about 30 different red lipsticks sent to her house from a variety of Amazon sellers, all paid from prepaid credit cards.” While learning all the weird ways Dino terrorized his ex is entertaining, it is still nonetheless wrong.

This was psychological torment to the highest degree and Dino only got worst as the wedding approached. He even had a red sharpie placed under her windshield wipers, just a day before the wedding day.

Legitimate Concerns

Andrea knew that she hadn’t treated Dino in the best way and him enacting his revenge was obvious but she never expected he would do it two years later and especially not on her wedding day.

She needed to do something to fix her anxiety, so she had her father call Dino at work to talk him into backing off, but when Dino explained what she had done to him and his car, even her father became ticked off at Andrea.

No Red Allowed

It seemed like no matter what Andrea tried to do, Dino’s plan was being executed perfectly to the point that even her own father was mad at her. Soon enough, the day which was meant to be one full of laughter and unforgettable memories arrived.

Andrea’s wedding day was full of anxious energy which she directed to everyone, from her guests to her fiance. “At the wedding reception, Andrea was a basket case. She demanded that all the red flowers be removed from the centrepieces on all the tables. She refused to get within 10 feet of anyone holding a red drink” said a guest.

A Cruel Twist

And what was Dino’s big masterplan for her wedding day? Nothing! Nothing at all! He had just been sending her threatening gifts and coded messages just to make her paranoid and it defiantly worked.

“He turned her into a Bridezilla, and Nancy, who was invited, kept him updated with a running commentary as the night progressed. It was legendary”. It was a cruel way to treat someone, especially on their wedding day.

Ruining Her Reputation

Thankfully, Dino didn’t go as far as ruining her wedding dress but he did ruin Andrea’s reputation forever. While she wasn’t the model of good behaviour during their relationship, no one deserves to be played around like that.

This story is one, which showcases just how a “right” answer can turn very wrong when taken too far. In our opinion, we think both Dino and Andrea were wrong and these two are way better apart than they ever will be together.
