We hear all about eccentric celebrity lifestyles from their homes to their hairstyles but something that we find the most intriguing is celebrity diets. From drinking only juice for days to eating peas for weeks, celeb diets and food choices are on another planet!

Today, we are going to take you to said planet and will give you a hands-on look at how and why the rich and famous like to eat such bizarre foods. Is there a health benefit, us mere mortals are missing or is it just because the food actually tastes good?

Reese Witherspoon

Reese is from the south and she got both her charm and tastebuds deeply rooted there. While she likes the basic pies and fried chicken, the south is known for, there is one thing she can’t get enough of which isn’t exactly a southern delicacy.

It’s baby food! Apparently, baby food is known to be low in calories, low in salt and sugar, while being extremely nutritious. The media has dubbed this diet the Baby Food Diet. It is a diet that Reese Witherspoon adopted after her third pregnancy to shed the weight.

Jennifer Aniston

Aniston has always been known in Hollywood as a wellness enthusiast, favouring healthy foods way before it became a trend. Well, the actress has a few weird foods in her diet which raise our eyebrows but the one which made it in our list is stomach-churning.

Placenta crips! Yes, this isn’t a typo! Jennifer likes to eat crisp made out of placentas because of their supposed health benefits. Not just that, she also takes Placenta pills which are basically dehydrated placentas stuffed into capsules!

Heidi Klum

Compared to Aniston’s weird food quirk, Heidi Klum seems to have a pretty normal diet. She isn’t too careful about calorie counting or trying fad superfoods. She focuses on eating fruits, vegetables and lean proteins.

Though of course, she is in our list so she must eat something weird and that is Apple Cider Vinger. She credits it with keeping her skin clear, her hair shiny and just giving an overall boost in the morning.

Megan Fox

Megan Fox is far less radical than our friend Heidi Klum: she does not drink pure vinegar, but rather dilutes this famous acidic liquid in water. Every morning when she gets up, this is the first thing she drinks.

In 2010, the actress even declared to the American press: “It cleans up your system entirely. ” More than the aesthetic virtues of apple cider vinegar, Megan Fox appreciates the detoxifying properties.

Jennifer Lopez

Everyone knows that Jennifer Lopez just keeps getting better and better with age and we think we know how she does it. She doesn’t just eat healthily and workouts religiously but also has a secret oil, which she relies on to maintain her body.

Rather than applying the oil or ingesting it, Lopez inhales Grapefruit Essential Oil on a daily basis. The oil is known to act as an appetite suppressant: it reduces appetite and promotes weight loss. Some specialists recommend breathing it, at least three times a day for fifteen minutes. We definitely don’t know how to feel about that!

Madonna

Just like Jennifer Lopez, Madonna also seems to be honing in on her wellness journey as she ages. Throughout the decades, the singer has been known to follow a multitude of fad diets but has finally found the foods which work for her.

The first is Seeds, in particular Flax Seeds. She also drinks dandelion herbal teas, coconut water and, our favourite is, holy water which she gets directly imported from Kabbalah! Let’s just say Madonna likes her water!

Kate Beckinsale

The Underworld starlet doesn’t really have a bizarre food which she likes to eat for its health benefits but in fact, has a specific routine of eating which is just as out of the ordinary.

Turns out, Kate refuses to consume anything after sundown. She believes or more like her dietitian believes that eating during sunlight follows the natural rhythm of the digestive system and inhibits binge eating and snacking. As weird as that sounds, it looks like it is working since Kate looks 20 years younger than her real age.

Kim Cattrall

Actress Kim Cattrall admits to having been on a diet almost all her life. Sadly, that is just the price actresses have to pay to work in Hollywood. Cattral doesn’t believe in fad diets and focuses on tried and tested staples.

Her favourite is rich in Omega-3, Salmon which she eats three times a day. Yes, for breakfast, lunch and dinner Kim eats variants of Salmon, just with different side-dishes. She credits her salmon diet for her dense hair, beautiful skin, and swears it keeps her feeling active, all day.

Amanda Seyfried

Like many stars, Amanda Seyfried strongly believes in the raw food diet, a diet where you only eat raw food. She told Popsugar “I am in the thick of the raw diet. It’s intense. And a little horrible. What did I eat for lunch yesterday? Spinach. Just spinach. Spinach and some seeds. ”

Given the way she describes it, the diet seems particularly difficult to live with. But despite these constraints, it has many advantages. The basic gist of it is that the food properties and virtues are not altered by overcooking.

Beyoncé has shared her diet tips and tricks with her fans from time to time and each one is stranger than the one before. In 2003, she told Daily Mail that she ate only tomatoes and cucumbers for lunch.

In fact, Beyoncé only eats six slices of tomatoes and five slices of cucumber, for a total of 28 calories. She said “I am a naturally fat person, who has a terrible desire to get out of this natural. I go through long agonies to keep my stomach as flat as possible – even if it is never flat enough in my opinion. ”

Second rather strange food fad tested by Beyoncé: the Master Cleanse. Before each major event, Queen Bey indulges in the joys of this “diet” for ten days. The principle? Do not swallow anything solid during the allotted time, and only drink, drink, drink …

What does she drink? Well, It is a beverage made up of lemon, maple syrup, cayenne pepper. To be honest, that doesn’t sound all that bad? But imagine, she performs in front of thousands of fans, all on an empty stomach!

Chrissy Teigen

Anyone who knows anything about Chrissy knows that she is a big foodie. So, what is her sweet sin? Doritos crisps, cheese flavour in particular. But of crouse, crisps are not the healthiest, so the model has found a middle ground.

Teigen likes to lick the Doritos to soak up their taste, and then discreetly puts the said chips back in the package “I lick the aroma of the cheese nachos and then put the chips back in the package. By doing so, I capture all the taste, but I avoid all the calories! ” She told Delish magazine.

Christina Aguilera

Christina Aguilera’s eating habits are far less strange than some of the other celebrity diets in this article. Rather than stick to a certain type of food for her day-to-day meals, Aguilera prefers to pick and choose based on colour!

Called the “Rainbow diet”, this diet is entirely based on colours. Each day of the week, you choose a colour and then eat only foods that have this colour all day concerned. We are not sure if you are allowed to eat Cheetos all day long on “Yellow Day” but hey, it isn’t technically cheating!

Gwyneth Paltrow

Paltrow has led the way for weird celebrity fads for decades now and has even managed to create a lucrative business based on her own personal diet. So, what does she eat in a day?

To wind down at night, she sips a tea made from sesame oil, ginger, coconut sugar and almond milk. According to her, it is “the ideal drink to have fun during a rainy afternoon”.  In addition to this “comforting” drink, each morning, she has a mystical smoothie, which is made with Almond milk, coconut oil, vanilla mushroom protein powder and “Moon Juive Dust”. Yes, dust!

Mariah Carey

Who knew that celebrities had such preferences when it came to food colours! Because just like Christina Aguilera, Mariah also eats a colour-coded diet though she limits herself to one colour only!

That is Purple, purple and still purple. After giving birth, Mariah Carey only ate purple foods. According to Star Magazine, during this post-maternity period, “the Diva threw herself headlong into this new diet: three days a week, she ate purple foods such as plums, grapes and eggplant”

Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage seems like the average Hollywood star but has made surprising statements regarding his diet. In the English tabloid The Sun, he revealed that he only eats animals with a “dignified sex life” which he could respect.

“I choose the way I eat based on the way the animals have sex,” he said. According to him, “the fish have a rather dignified sex life. So do the birds. But the pigs, not really. That’s why I don’t eat pork or the like. I only eat fish and poultry. ” We have no comments! 

January Jones

Like Jennifer Aniston, actress January Jones also consumed placenta, however, unlike the star of Friends, she used her own placenta following the birth of her son. She revealed this strange eating practice to Peoples Magazine.

“I have a fantastic doula, which makes me eat well, vitamins, tea and placenta capsules. Your placenta is dehydrated and turned into vitamins. At first, I was very reluctant, but in reality, we are the only mammals not to do so.”

Jennifer Lawrence

To quench her nighttime cravings, Jennifer Lawrence offers herself a very special snack: a pizza folded in half, which she stuffs with spaghetti and chilli. It is her cute sin and frankly, she does not even care!

She told Vogue “I hate it when people say that I only do this or that I only eat that because the truth is that I eat. I am not very strict in terms of food: if I want a slice of pizza, I eat a slice of pizza. (…) I eat like a caveman. ”

What is worst than having “Moon Dust” in your smoothie? Well, how about a tablespoon of salt! Apparently, the actress of the Dark Angel series voluntarily adds salt to all the water she drinks!

“To tell the truth, I have a low level of sugar in the blood and also low blood pressure, and I often feel dizziness if I don’t have enough salt. When I practice hot yoga, water is not enough to quench my thirst. I need saltwater or coconut water. I just add a pinch of salt to my water. I really like the pink Himalayan salt. ”

The actress’ other diet staple? Chili, and more specifically, chili sauce. We like that Alba has a “normal” food which she likes, albeit in a very Hollywood way! In her fridge, she has at least five or six different varieties of hot sauce.

“I am ready for everything related to the habanero chilli – a chilli originating in Mexico, – or for anything that tastes like the Caribbean,” she told the press. She admits to putting chilli sauce on everything, she can!

Channing Tatum

How does Tatum keep himself sane through hours of tough weight training? Well, by eating a sandwich and not just any sandwich, classic peanut butter and jelly one! Though, he does add a twist or two to his version.
