Ahh…love in Hollywood. Seems like a topic that’s been overdone in SO many things, and yet, people just can’t stop talking about it. Many find it difficult to link celebrities and long-term relationships. In all fairness, it is completely understandable, since it seems so natural that love is quite short-lived, as far as the rich and famous are concerned.

However, there are several stars who stand out from the rest, and they might just show us something about true love that we can all learn for ourselves. We’ve rounded up the biggest Hollywood LBGT power couples because love is an amazing thing, and who doesn’t like a good old’ love story? Well, let’s get started then!

01. Ellen DeGeneres & Portia De Rossi
It is definitely not a stretch to say that Ellen DeGeneres is most likely the best-known TV host today. She is also among the most massive LGBT rights advocates. For her efforts, she has even received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Since 2004, she and the lovely Portia De Rossi have been together, and they got married in 2008. De Rossi is a model, actress, and philanthropist who can be seen making guest appearances on her wife’s show, from time to time.

02. Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka
Are these two #relationshipgoals? They definitely are and even that is an understatement at how cute Niel Patrick Harris and David Burtka are. Big star Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, his husband, are both massively talented in a lot of avenues, both on-screen and off.

The two were secretly engaged for five years and a favourite of tabloid magazines but they made things official in 2014. In addition, they became fathers to twins through surrogacy in 2010.

03. Jodie Foster & Alexandra Hedison
Actress and filmmaker Jodie Foster has often been regarded as one of her generation’s greatest actresses. Despite her popularity, she has managed to keep her relationship with Alexandra Hedison and their marriage under wraps.

Apart from being Foster’s better-half,  Hedison is also a famed director, an actress, and an artist in her own right. The couple looks as perfect as can be, and we can’t help but feel a slight tinge of envy.

04. Cara Delevingne & Annie Clark
British Model Cara Delevingne’s is the face of Young Hollywood and a proud part of the LGTBQ+ community. While you won’t see her making any public speeches in pride parades, she proudly and easily flaunts her relationships in public.

Since she and musician St. Vincent a.k.a. Annie Clark went public with their relationship, people just couldn’t get enough of the pair. From their cute social media posts to impromptu shoots.  However, they split in 2016.

05. Jesse Tyler Ferguson & Justin Mikita
Modern Family is nothing without Jesse Ferguson. No arguments there and who does Jesse credit to his existence, well it is none other than Justin Mikita. The couple shares a private relationship.

He and Justin Mikita got hitched in 2013, and as a replacement for the usual wedding gift, the couple asked their guests to instead give a donation to ‘Tie the Knot’, which is a marriage equality charity.

06. Elton John & David Furnish
This couple definitely needs no introduction. The glittering Elton John has been with his partner David for several years now. They don’t like to discuss their relationship publically and all we get are far and few pictures of the duo.

Elton John and David Furnish began a civil partnership back in 2005, and only in 2014, when marriage equality became legal, did they officially get married. Cheers to making it official!

07. Ricky Martin & Jwan Yosef
Ricky Martin was one of the many 90s popstars to finally have the chance to open up about their sexuality. When Ricky Martin was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, he let the cat out of the bag that he had gotten engaged to well-known painter Jwan Yosef.

In January 2018, Martin revealed that he and Yosef had gotten married. The couple is now raising twins, and they look extremely happy. On a side note, we also love the way the chic couple always dresses to impress.

08. George Takei & Brad Altman
In addition to being a great actor, George Takei is also a big LGBT advocate. He and his actor and writer husband had been dating for almost 27 years prior to legally tying the knot in 2008.

Apart from being a proud supporter of queer rights in America, Geroge also speaks for refugees. “It has a Nazi echo, doesn’t it? The Jews had to wear that Star of David, and Donald Trump is saying all Syrians have to carry an ID card and they can, without a warrant, go into any Syrian’s home or a mosque”

09. Lance Bass & Michael Turchin
Lance Bass and well-known painter Michael Turchin began dating in 2011. They got married in 2014, and the ceremony was even broadcast on Lance Loves Michael: The Lance Bass Wedding.

The Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon is now a big marriage equality advocate. Cynthia and Christine began dating back in 2004. The couple got married in 2012. The year before they tied the knot, Marinoni gave birth, and the couple welcomed their son, Max Ellington, to the world.

“While I don’t often use the word, the technically precise term for my orientation is bisexual. I believe bisexuality is not a choice, it is a fact. What I have ‘chosen’ is to be in a gay relationship”

11. Tom Ford & Richard Buckley
If you think love, at first sight, isn’t possible, then try explaining it to Tom Ford and Richard Buckley. They have been together since 1986! They finally made it official in 2014 and since then also, have one son together.

The famed designer hates getting identified as “gay/straight/bi” and finds labels old-fashioned. He prefers to find the “poetry” in his love and finds that Hollywood always misrepresented the queer community.

12. Wanda Sykes & Alex Sykes
In 2008, Alex and Wanda Sykes got hitched. Only a year later, the couple welcomed their twins, Olivia and Lucas, to the world. We love hearing Wanda tell stories about her kids on talk shows!

We love her straight to the point stance on marriage equality “The government shouldn’t be involved in this because it’s very simple. If you don’t believe in a same-sex marriage, then don’t marry somebody of the same sex”

13. Michael Kors & Lance Lepere
Surely, Michael Kors and Lance Lepere win the most fashionable couple in the world award, right? 2011 was definitely huge for this duo. They became engaged and got married in the same year.

Kors has been openly gay for most of his public life and while he had had his fair share of in-the-spotlight relationship, this one remained under the radar. We appreciate Micheal trying to protect his privacy!

14. Jillian Michaels & Heidi Rhoades
The television show Just Jillian follows Jillian Michaels’s life, much like the name suggest. It also shows how the world-famous personal trainer’s love for talent manager Heidi Rhoades blossomed.
The reality-tv couple got engaged in 2016. Bringing forth many social media posts gushing about each other. However, they split in 2018 after being together for almost nine years. The couple chose to announce their split VIA Instagram. How fitting!

15. Jim Parsons & Todd Spiewak
Something pretty big happened at the beginning of 2017. Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory got hitched to Todd Spiewak. It was a nice surprise to fans and the best way to kick off a year!

We don’t have a lot of quotes about this ten-year-long relationship but the one we do have, we absolutely love. Parsons called his relationship “an act of love, coffee in the morning, going to work, washing the clothes, taking the dogs out—a regular life, boring love”

These two certainly take the cake as far as lovely couples go. Lauren Blitzer is a popular author who published the well-known Same Sex in the City: So Your Prince Charming Is Really a Cinderella. Chely Wright, on the other hand, is a rather famous country musician.

“I hear the word “tolerance”—that some people are trying to teach people to be tolerant of gays. I’m not satisfied with that word. I am gay, and I am not seeking to be “tolerated”. One tolerates a toothache, rush-hour traffic, an annoying neighbour with a cluttered yard. I am not negative to be tolerated”

22. RuPaul & Georges Lebar
Practically everyone knows that RuPaul leads a life that is quite high profile being the host of the show RuPaul’s Drag Race. However, he has actually managed to keep his romantic life rather a low key, in spite of being together with Georges LeBar, his partner, for more than 20 years!

RuPaul is considered to be the most commercially successful drag queen in the United State. He has described doing drag as a “very, very political” act because it “challenges the status quo” by rejecting fixed identities: “drag says ‘I’m a shapeshifter, I do whatever the hell I want at any given time’.

His marriage to Kief wasn’t his first. When Barry was a young man, he was married to his high-school sweetheart, a woman but later got his marriage annulled. He stayed firm to the fact that they both still “loved each other”, despite his later long-term relationship with a man.

First of all, on and off relationships are not really surprising. Second, we just love Luke Evans, so his relationship with Jon Kortajarena is something we welcome, especially if it makes Luke happy.

In his early 20s in an article in the U.K.’s Gay Times, Evans stated that people would approach him in gay pubs to tell him that they could not believe that he was gay. “Everybody thought I was a straight man yet everybody knew me as a gay man in my life in London, So, I never tried to hide it”
