Animals of the same breed can pretty look much the same when brought together. We only get to differentiate them sometimes by colors or markings. But some animals are blessed by nature to have totally unique animal markings.

Some of these animals have cool and unusual patterns or colors that make them one of a kind in the whole world. Here is a list of animals with rare markings and we bet you would not get through this list without going “Awwww.”

Ready to party

This frog looks like it is ready to go to a rave complete with neon body paint to make himself glow in the dark. This frog is not black but has a deep aubergine color, which is the same color as eggplants.

This specie was discovered in 2007 and is native to Suriname, a country in South America. It looks like the bright-colored dart frogs but it is not the same species. However, it is just as poisonous.

Beauty has a price

This deer looks very pretty, right? This would definitely be a rare beauty in the forest. This deer is a piebald, meaning it has a recessive genetic trait that causes white fur to spread in white-tailed deer. In severe cases, the condition can cause dwarfism and twisted limbs.

Source: Give It Love

This deer was abandoned by his mother once she noticed his condition would limit his chances of survival in the wild. Fortunately, the hunter who found him was entranced by his unique looks and gave him to Kent County Farm.

Pup in makeup

You can easily get lost in the eyes of this husky. Its spot markings on its eyes make it look like the puppy has some serious eye makeup game going on. Plus the whole look places an emphasis on its bright blue eyes.

Source: Give It Love

Huskies rarely have spots in their coats. They usually sport coats of white, gray, black, or brown. This husky puppy is most likely a mix and got spots from another breed. Nevertheless, the results are uniquely beautiful.

Not an albino

Most people would think that this is an albino turtle but this turtle is actually leucistic. Leucistic animals only have partial pigmentation loss so they have different patterns and colors – like the shell of this turtle.

Source: Give It Love

Any specie can be leucistic. One way to differentiate an albino animal from a leucistic animal is through their eyes. Leucistic animals do not get pigment loss in their eyes so they do not have the usual reddish eyes that come with albinism.

Unforgettable feline face

One look at this cat and you know you’ll never see a face like that one again. This cat does not only have an upturned white mustache, but it also has its own fluffy and bushy white brows!

Source: Give It Love

This cat is captured with a suiting frown on his face, reminding us of the snobbish nature that cats are known for. It just seems like you will never get approval no matter what level of care you give them. And this cat’s facial markings just emphasize its disappointment.

A different butterfly effect

This taxidermied butterfly has two different wings and it was actually born this way. It’s not actually a unique thing for the species. Several butterflies are born this way and they are called bilateral gynandromorphs.

Source: Give It Love

Bilateral gynandromorphs are half-female and half-male. In some cases, they can be twin embryos that emerge as one. While there are cases where there would be no physical attributes showing the condition.

Looking fine with extra shine

This unusually bright and shiny zebra has silvery tan stripes instead of black ones. Even its mane and tale look shiny. It is, no doubt, one of the most beautiful zebras in the world. This zebra is Zoe and she lived in a private sanctuary in Hawaii.

Source: Give It Love

Before she passed away, Zoe gave birth to a son named Oreo, who turned out to be a normal-looking zebra. Fortunately, Oreo was able to breed two more foals with Zoe’s unique coloring.

Freckled face

This dog is a mixed breed between a Pitbull and an Australian Cattle Dog. He has the traditional muscular build of a white Pitbull and has the color of an Australian Cattle Dog spread out throughout, giving this dog a freckled fur coat.

Source: Give It Love

His freckled face is set off by soft brown ears and his brown eyes are just the same color. These physical attributes make this dog a very handsome one that anyone can fall in love with.

Spotless Cheetah

The cheetah is known for its signature polka-dotted fur. But this cheetah is entirely unique in the sense that instead of fur, it has a scatter of freckles around its back and torso. The cheetah was spotted by photographer Guy Combes in 2012.

Source: Give It Love

Researchers believe that the lack of spots is caused by a recessive gene. However, unlike other animals, this mutation is an advantage for the cheetah, because it makes her look like a lioness – which is a more formidable hunter.

Getting two birds with one egg

The budgerigar is a bird known as the common parakeet and comes in a wide variety of colors. But this particular bird’s coloring stands out because it is a very rare chimera. Chimeras are created when two or more fertilized eggs are fused together to become one.

Source: Give It Love

These chimeras carry two distinct sets of DNA in their bodies and this can sometimes result in two different blood types, having both male and female parts, or like this bird, half and half appearance.

A fine gentleman

This puppy was found on the streets and taken to a local animal shelter by a passerby. This way, he gets a chance to find a permanent home with a loving family. And we have a feeling that he won’t have trouble getting adopted soon.

Source: Give It Love

The puppy comes with what could be an upturned mustache or a beaming black smile. It is definitely a rare marking that most people would find charming and the big puppy eyes just add more points for this pup.

I have questions

It would be hard to lose track of this cow because it has a very unique mark on its face – a question mark to be specific. It is a cute and hilarious unique mark, don’t you agree? We won’t be surprised if the farmer that owns it favors it.

Source: Give It Love

There is no genetic condition that caused this unique mark or pattern. This cow just seems to be born with all the questions. It probably ends up confused all the time when he turns and people end up laughing.

Permanently innocent

This is Sam – a celebrity cat with a Facebook page that has more than half a million likes and an Instagram account with over 232,000 followers. It just takes one look at his face as to why he has a great following. The cat has eyebrows!

Source: Give It Love

With the fur markings set this way, the cat looks like it is permanently innocent or surprising. Sam could probably do anything he wants and still gets away with it. After all, who can stay mad at that cute face?

Ancient forest spirits

Something is enchanting about this picture of a herd of white deer. You can just picture Elvish music playing in the background as they do their majestic parade in the forest. But how is it possible to have so many albino deer in one herd?

Source: Give It Love

The only explanation is that these deer are leucistic. Although they look very pretty, these white deer will not be able to camouflage themselves in the woods unless it’s wintertime. Sadly, this limits their chances of survival.

Dreamy dapple

This is a dappled Dachshund also known as a “Dapple Doxie.” Their multi-colored coat is caused when there is a dominant gene and the colors may not be similar to the coats of their parents. But to get a dappled coat, one of the parents must be a dappled Dachshund.

Source: Give It Love

What makes this adorable dapple doxie unique is how the markings were spread on his face. The eyes were a bit spared and the marks put an emphasis on the nose line. Plus looking at this pup just gives you a craving for anything cookies and cream.

Got milk?

This cat’s white mustache would be a shoo-in for the famous Got Milk campaign. You know the one where the hottest celebrities of that era boast off their milk mustaches. This feline would probably be the best endorser among them all.

Source: Give It Love

Just look at how much that odd marking gives this cat some class and elegance. You can just picture this classy feline sitting on his owner’s lap and twiddling his mustache with his paws. Add an evil or unassuming purr and it’s all perfect.

The emperor’s heart

The children’s animated movie series “Happy Feet” has made us realize how cute and adorable penguins can be. But there is one Emperor Penguin in Antarctica that is destined to win as the most adorable penguin in the world.

Source: Give It Love

This Emperor Penguin has an incredibly accurate heart-shaped mark on its chest. Unfortunately, this mark is temporary. Once this penguin gets its adult feathers, the heart mark would probably be less visible.

Two in one

If you want to have two cats but only have the budget for one, then you should check this cat out. Her rare mark would make you feel like you got two cats for the price of one. Her markings look like she is carrying a smaller cat on her back.

Source: Give It Love

The unusual black markings even give a cat tail and cat head to complete the illusion of a little black cat. This definitely makes her one of the most unique felines in the world because she carries her own pet cat on her back.

Half and half

There is no doubt that peacocks are one of the most majestic and gorgeous animals that walk the planet. This rare peacock happens to be a leucistic animal – just like the turtle from earlier.

Source: Give It Love

This peacock is predominantly white with a few splashes of its normal color on the tail and body. As you can see, the genetic condition gives the peacock a unique look that makes it one of a kind.

No stripes

Zebras are known for their distinctive black and white stripes. But this particular zebra has a dominant black coat and this makes him stand out from the group. Aside from the dominant black coloring, you can also notice some brown patches showing in the zebra’s white space.

Source: Give It Love

With the absence of the stripes, you can mistake a zebra for a donkey. This condition is caused by melanism. In cases of pseudo-melanistic zebras like this one, their coat can appear spotted instead of striped.

Meant to be loved

Who could say no to this little fur ball? With his wide, sad eyes and that unique brown hear mark on its body, people are bound to be on the floor trying to shower this puppy with so much love.

Source: Give It Love

You bet this puppy was able to find its owner and permanent home right away. One look and you can tell that this little cutie is just meant to be loved and cuddled through the years.

Skunk dolphin

Ever thought that a dolphin could come in black and white? Apparently, there is a whole specie that looks that way. This dolphin is known as the Commerson’s dolphin and is also known as the skunk dolphin, panda dolphin, and piebald dolphin.

Source: Give It Love

This type of dolphin does not have genetic mutations. They are simply born this way and are actually common in South America. They can still be fascinating things to see for those who do not know that this type of dolphin exists.

Snow-capped fur

There is no denying that this rottweiler has a very unique look. This dog actually has a condition called vitiligo, where light-colored skin patches would show up on its body. In this rottweiler’s case, the patches are white.

Source: Give It Love

This condition does not cause any pain so you do not have to worry about this dog. In fact, even humans can have vitiligo. Fortunately, this condition makes him look really cool like a dog with snow-capped fur.

That’s not a headband

Thanks to its rare markings and strangely straight-up and closely-distanced ears, this cat looks like it is wearing one of those cat ears headbands that little girls and Ariana Grande fans love to wear.

Source: Give It Love

And get a load of those big, wide, and beautiful green eyes too – it even looks like she has eyeliner on. It even has a pretty pink nose and mouth to match her girly looks. There is no doubt whoever owns this beautiful cat is one lucky pet owner.

Pretty in pink

This unusually pink insect is a katydid also known as a long-horned grasshopper. Their usual coloring is the same color as grasshoppers. This one happens to be pink because of a condition called erythrism.

Source: Give It Love

Erythrism is a genetic mutation that overproduces red and pink pigments. This is actually an advantage because it helps the katydid blend in with reddish leaves, which they usually feed on. Here is one piece of evidence that proves even insects can be pretty in pink.

Heart eyes for you

Dogs make great pets because they are fiercely loyal, protective, and lovable. But this Dalmatian takes his love to the extreme as he is born with heart-shaped spots on both eyes.

Source: Give It Love

With eyes like that, how could you ever doubt his love? This Dalmatian’s name is Charlie. And his owner actually put up an Instagram page just for him. Everyone could not get enough of the unique-looking long-coat Dalmatian with heart-shaped eyes.

Silver snake

This snake may look like an elegant jewelry piece but it is actually real. This new species of silver boa was discovered in the Bahamas in 2016. They are known as Conception Island silver boas and they are considered to be a critically endangered species.

Source: Give It Love

The shiny silvery serpent sadly exists on an island filled with feral cats. Researchers are currently fighting to keep this species alive. Even if you are not a fan of snakes, you have to admit that this silver one looks fascinating and one-of-a-kind.

The supreme leader

This feline will make you think that it is Hitler reincarnated. In fact, he is named Kitler because of his uncanny resemblance to the dictator. The mustache and the hair are so uncanny that when his photos went online, they immediately went viral.

Source: Give It Love

But despite Kitler’s resemblance to Hitler, the owner says the cat is actually friendly and has no plans to take over the world. But based on its fierce looks, this is one cat you probably do not want to piss off.
