A Dutch couple
Vietnam Airlines Flight 474 had 31 individuals on board: six crew members and 25 passengers. The domestic flight was traveling from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Nha Trang, a coastal city known for being a popular vacation spot with views of the South China Sea.
Aboard were Willem van der Pas and Annette Herfkens, a couple from the Netherlands. Their respective jobs in separate countries had kept them apart for a while before they reunited. They had been in a relationship for 13 years and were now engaged to be married.
