Dana the orangutan
Dana, a Sumatran orangutan, found herself at the center of a critical conservation effort. As a member of one of the most endangered species on the planet, her existence represented much more than just her own survival. The fate of her entire species hung in the balance, with the dwindling numbers of orangutans worldwide painting a grim picture for their future.
Living in Jersey Zoo in England, Dana was unaware of the immense ecological and biological significance of her life, which symbolized the struggle of orangutans against the encroaching threats of habitat loss and human interference.
