The disappearance of her grandmother
When Monica heard the news about her grandmother passing away, it didn’t really hit her at first. She’d been out of touch with most of her family for ages and honestly, didn’t miss them much. From the snippets she’d gathered, they felt pretty much the same way about her.
Ever since she packed her bags and left at 18, no one had even tried to lend her a hand, except for her mother. And they only called once every two months. And those calls seemed to get shorter each time. But it was one of those last calls that informed her of her grandmother’s disappearance.
