Diabetics can eat fast food but it is best to be picky in what they order. After all, fast food meals are usually high in carbs, unhealthy saturated fat, and sodium. According to Sandra Arevalo of the American Association of Diabetes Educators, most fast food meals that come with soda and fries have over a thousand calories.

The American Diabetes Association recommends that if you want fast food, get the smallest-sized meal and skip the soda and fries. If they offer low-carb sandwiches or salads, order that instead.
