The 33-year-old singer Adele surprised her fans by sharing a never-before-heard song from her new “divorce” album. She shared the song clip on Instagram Live.
Ahead of the official release Adele played this new snippet for her fans. It is anticipated that the song would be the first single off the album.
Adele made a surprise appearance on Instagram Live. She was trying to answer some fans’ questions. During this time, she played a new snippet of the first single, “Easy on Me.” She also mentioned that the album is based on “divorce, babe, divorce.”
The song’s lyrics include, “There ain’t no gold in this river / That I’ve been washing my hands in forever / I know there is hope in these waters / But I can’t bring myself to swim / When I am drowning in this silence / Baby, let me in.”
Previously in an interview, Adele said about her new record. She said, “was more me divorcing myself…Just being like, Bitch, f–kin’ hot mess, get your f–kin’ shit together!” The new track “Easy on Me” also features Adele’s powerful and haunting vocals.
