After allegedly killing a prominent doctor, his wife, and their two grandchildren in South Carolina, former NFL Player Phillip Adams has died from an apparent suicide. An investigation is still running to identify the motive for this shooting.
According to York County Sheriff’s Office, Phillip Adams was found dead after a police standoff. It is confirmed that the death is a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
York County Sheriff Kevin Tolson confirmed that the athlete killed five people including prominent Rock Hill doctor Robert Lesslie, his wife Barbara Lesslie. He also killed two of their grandchildren who were under 10 years old. Before killing himself, he killed those people.
Kevin Tolson said to the reporters, “There’s nothing about this, right now, that makes sense to any of us…And that’s why we’re working so hard to try to get more information.”
Phillip’s father Alonzo Adams spoke about the tragedy, “I can say he’s a good kid. I think the football messed him up,” He also added, “I don’t think he ever did anybody any harm. All I can say is we pray for the family. He used to be my doctor a long time ago. I know they were good folks down there. I don’t know what happened but we’re gonna keep them in our prayers.”
