Lawsuit
On 22 January, the mayor of Farindola, Ilario Lacchetta, announced that he was going to be filing a lawsuit against against the satirical and very controversial french magazine, Charlie Hebdo, for allegedly mocking victims of the disaster.

A manslaughter investigation was also launched into the failure of authorities to respond to the call reporting the avalanche for several hours. After autopsies were carried out, it was revealed that the majority of the victims died almost immediately upon impact.
