Shane Mears is someone who is quite often found poking his nose into other people’s business. There is a perfectly legitimate reason for this behaviour, however. He is a relic hunter and he spends a lot of time visiting construction sites in the pursuit of finding artefacts that reveal things about New Orleans’ history. One day, he discovered something that left him completely perplexed.

Mears was out digging, as was his custom, and as he dug, he felt his shovel hit something solid. Feeling excited, he had a closer look and discovered that he had been very close to breaking a glass bottle that was filled with murky liquid. He was intrigued as to why someone would have deliberately tried to hide this.
