Zendaya took home the Emmy 2020 award for outstanding lead actress in a drama series for Euphoria. Zendaya is now 24 years old and won the award as the youngest woman to ever snag the prize.
During her speech, Zendaya said, “There is hope in the young people out there.” After shedding a few tears Zendaya continued, “It means so much to me. I admire every single woman in this category, so just to be mentioned in this category at all is something.”
After winning her award Zendaya said, “That support is everything. I don’t usually cry, and I got through it without letting it take over completely, but it was a very emotional moment. I still can’t believe it myself. It’s pretty crazy.”
Then she continued, “It’s moments like this that we all have to all hold onto and cherish. I’m just grateful that my whole family is all here to celebrate with me and be here. I felt this wrapping of love around me as I was sitting here. I’m just trying to take it all in and all the moments of joy and happiness that we do have.”
