Smash Mouth Performs at Buffalo Chip Concert Without Masks

The ’90s popular band Smash Mouth is one of several groups that performed at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip concert in South Dakota over the weekend. Many people are criticizing them for this questionable decision.

The group, which is known for hits their hit tracks like “All Star” and “I’m a Believer” performed for thousands of unmasked attendees at the biker rally. Many people are willing to risk it all to see “All Star” live concert.  

Several clips from the concert went viral. In those clips, online viewers can observe massive crowds which shocked many people. Because amid this global pandemic such massive crowds can be dangerous to all people.

The band is currently comprised of Steve Harwell, Paul De Lisle, Michael Klooster, Randy Cooke, and Sean Hurwitz. They have not commented on the backlash surrounding the concert. The frontman of the band Steve Harwell told the crowd, “Now we’re all here together. We’re being human. F**k that COVID s**t”

Smash Mouth wasn’t the only group to perform at the festival. Other performers including Trapt, Buckcherry, Drowning Pool, Night Ranger, Reverend Horton Heat, Lit, 38 Special, Quiet Riot, and Big Skillet performed in that event.

However, the event organizer claimed that there were signs posted reminding everyone to keep socially distant and encouraging the use of face coverings. They also claimed that there were hand sanitizer stations available throughout the venue and masks were available for purchase.
