Bonnie Pointer Of the Pointer Sisters Passed Away At The Age Of 69

One of the original singers of Pointer Sisters, Bonnie Pointer has died on Monday, June 8. The whole music world is mourning the loss of this singing star.

After her death, Anita Pointer delivered a statement. Anita said, “It is with great sadness that I have to announce to the fans of the Pointer Sisters that my sister Bonnie died this morning. Our family is devastated. On behalf of my siblings and I and the entire Pointer family, we ask for your prayers at this time.”

Anita continued in her tribute, “Bonnie was my best friend and we talked every day…We never had a fight in our life. I already miss her and I will see her again one day.”

Bonnie’s younger sister singer June Pointer died in 2006. June and Bonnie founded the group as a duo in 1969. Anita joined the group the same year. The Pointer Sisters group is popularly known for many hit tracks like “I’m So Excited,” “Jump (For My Love)” and “Fairytale”. The Pointer Sisters also won three Grammy Awards.

Later Bonnie tried to pursue her solo career and parted ways with the group in 1977. She released four albums which performed very well in the market. Her disco cover of The Elgins “Heaven Must Have Sent You” topped the Billboard charts at No. 11.

The cause of death was not revealed yet. But this sudden shocking news depressed the whole music industry.
