Recently Florence Welch performed “You’ve Got the Love” for virtual Met Gala. Vogue honored its postponed Met Gala with a virtual celebration. This virtual event tried to look back on the history and memorable moment from the prestigious annual event.
Editor-in-Chief of Vogue welcomed Florence to perform her fittingly uplifting tune, “You’ve Got the Love.” Welch was dressed in a silky champagne gown against her vintage, floral wallpaper.
Wintour said about her performance, “She performed at the Met nearly a decade ago, and she very graciously told me that it was one of the most extraordinary moments of her life…I am so touched and so grateful that she has agreed to sing for us tonight.”
Earlier Wintour wrote in a statement on Vogue, “It would be impossible to recreate the gala on Monday evening, though I have loved hearing how so many are marking the occasion in their ways…So instead, I asked a few friends to join me for a simple moment—one that I hope will bring us all a bit of joy.”
Vogue has announced to donate to both organizations named “Costume Institute” and “A Common Thread”. They also requested their viewers and well-wishers to consider contributing to either organization.
