Meghan Markle has something new in common with Princess Diana. She has hired the same lawyer as her privacy lawsuit who previously represented her late mother-in-law in court.
David Sherborne is a leading barrister in the field of media and communication. According to his law firm biography, he is specialized in privacy, confidentiality, and defamation. He is also an expert in matrimonial and sports law. The barrister’s biography also confirms that he is a favorite of many celebrities like Chelsea Clinton, Paul McCartney, Kate Moss, Harry Styles, and David Furnish. He is also a lawyer of Meghan and Harry’s friend Elton John.
In October 2019, Prince Harry spoke out against the British tabloid press for verifying his famous wife. He stated, “For these select media this is a game and one that we have been unwilling to play from the start. I have been a silent witness to her private suffering for too long. To stand back and do nothing would be contrary to everything we believe in.”
Harry also added, “This particular legal action hinges on one incident in a long and disturbing pattern of behavior by British tabloid media. The contents of a private letter were published unlawfully in an intentionally destructive manner to manipulate you, the reader, and further the divisive agenda of the media group in question. In addition to their unlawful publication of this private document, they purposely misled you by strategically omitting select paragraphs, specific sentences, and even singular words to mask the lies they had perpetuated for over a year.”
Harry also referenced his mother and said, “I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditized to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person. I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”
So now it seems that Harry and Meghan are going to take legal action against the tabloid that published Meghan’s letter such a way that changed its meaning.
