Los Angeles officials have confirmed that Pop Smoke who died earlier this week, was murdered.
The “Welcome to the Party” and “Dior” rapper was popularly known as Pop Smoke. His real name was Bashar Jackson. He was shot dead during a home invasion and was pronounced dead at a hospital. At that time, Los Angeles police had said that an investigation was underway.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner said in a report that the cause of the 20-years-old rapper’s death was a homicide. The report also said that he died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
No arrest has been made yet for the murder. The case remains under homicide investigation. The person who called 911 had been in contact with someone in the house. It is assumed that two to six persons broke into the home wearing masks.
Pop Smoke recently released his sophomore mixtape, Meet the Woo 2. His death was really bad news for the rap music world.
