We scoured the internet, to find the ladies who dressed the best, a.k.a nearly all the Game of Thrones cast, and how with a single dress they have set new trends for not just, 2019 but also 2020.

1.Zendaya

From her Far From Home photocalls, we all knew that Zendaya was a style powerhouse, who leaned to create trends rather than followed them. She did just that when she showed up at the Emmys last night.

Wearing a custom Vera Wang dress, the Euphoria actresses looked every bit the fashionista, that she is. Her asymmetrical faux-sheer bustier was designed with a silky skirt and draped train.

2.Viola Davis

Davis has been teaching us not only, “How To Get Away With Murder” but also “How To Look Flawlessly Beautiful, Everywhere” for the last five years. She has always been a force on the red carpet and her Emmys look reinforced that.

Her black and white Alberta Ferretti picked up on all the trends for 2020 while her asymmetrical neckline fit easily into current trends. We personally love that Voila decided to wear her hair natural and stuck to minimal jewellery.

3. Sophie Turner

Everyone watched Game of Thrones and everyone at one point, loved or hated Sophie Turner’s character- Sansa Stark. No matter what your opinion on Sansa was, one thing is true for sure Sophie Turner knows how to give a stunning performance.

Many have tried to wear pale pink and many have failed but not our Queen in The North. Sophie Turner literally turned heads with her Louis Vuitton dress. Finishing it with the theme of understated yet impressionable jewellery.

4.Sandra Oh

Once you are part of the Shonda Rhimes world, it becomes exceedingly hard to break away from your fictional role but Sandra Oh managed to do just that and much more. The Killing Eve star was not only commemorated for her acting skills but also her fashionable ones.

For starters, We think Sandra Oh is probably the only human alive who can make this Pepto-Bismol inspired colour-palette look chic. Plus her voluminous curly messy bun is made of all our hopes and dreams.

5.Angela Bassett

We usually don’t like to comment on age but let’s take a moment to admire the fact that at 61 years old, Angela Bassett truly shows that age is definitely just a number and that she can never do any wrong.

Her Antonio Grimaldi jumpsuit instantly set the actress apart from the horde of dresses while her curved neckline and asymmetrical train fit seamlessly into the hottest trends. The addition of a rainbow rounded clutch finished the outfit with personality and poise.

6.Naomi Watts

We have come to expect feminine silhouettes from Naomi Watts, full of whimsy which is finished with a classic edge. Plus of course, incredible acting and charming wit. She brought all of that and more to Monday night’s red carpet.

Opting for an unexpected black Dior gown, Watts was a breath of fresh air. Who looked like a gothic princess with her mesh overlayed sweetheart neckline, sheer bodice and wide buckled velvet belt.

7.Maisie Williams

With their last chance of snagging every Emmy Award, the cast of Game of Thrones was present in full force with each actress looking stunning as usual. The same can be said about Masie Williams.

The star told reporters that not only was her dress a custom J.W. Anderson but she was responsible for spearheading its design. Most of her drive to wear custom was not to make a snobby fashion statement but for necessity, since many “off the runway” dresses didn’t fit her petite 5’1 frame.

8.Julia Louis-Dreyfus

All eyes were on Julia as she made for a stunning return to the red-carpet after posting her harrowing tweet about her recent breast cancer diagnosis. The Veep star was nominated for her seventh Emmy, for her role as Selina Meyer in the HBO hit series.

She openly thanked her Stylist, Cristina Ehrlich for picking out her custom Oscar de la Renta glittering gown. Her classic glam look was completed with matching Aquazurra sandals, Irene Neuwirth earrings and ring.

9.Gwendoline Christie

See, we weren’t over exaggerating when we said that the Game of Thrones cast came to kill at the Emmys, both with their impeccable style but also by claiming their theatrical superiority by winning ALL.THE.AWARDS.

Gwendoline’s Gucci gown almost looks like it belongs on the set of her fantasy show rather than on the red carpet but we love it, nonetheless. Her dress came straight from Gucci’s Resort 2020 runway to easily become the star of the night.

10.Regina King

King is not a newbie to the red carpet, having won several accolades, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and three Primetime Emmy Awards. She stuck to her tried and tested style and as usual, looked stunning.

Her comfort showed through her beautifully styled Jason Wu dress in a fresh baby blue colour. The soft pleating of the fabric combined with the high neckline and satin harness created a look full of juxtaposition and sass.

11.Rachel Brosnahan

With her role of Miriam “Midge” Maisel, Rachel became a star who when not spending her time in period costumes, likes to fight the patriarchy one quote at a time. Brosnahan customarily likes to take fashion risks on the red carpet while keeping it simple for everyday wear.

For the Emmys, she opted for a deep blue Elie Saab dress, in which she looked well, marvellous. Her all-sequin fabric glittered and glimmered from every angle while her bold and smokey eye completed the look with classic edginess.

12.Taraji P. Henson

Taraji has proved that she isn’t afraid to make a bold fashion statement, which is exactly what she did at the Emmys. She also finally confirmed that she and fiancé Kelvin Hayden will tie the knot on April 4, 2020. “4/4/20,”

Red was the colour of the night and Henson did it better than most. Her wide plunging neckline dress mixed the bold pink and red effortlessly to create an outfit that became instantly memorable while also being especially trendy.

13.Michelle Williams

Throughout her numerous appearances on red carpets, Michelle Willaims has proved that she is quite the fashion force to reckon with. She brought her best fashion foot forward for Emmy 2019 and a little bit of something else.

Of course, her Louis Vuitton dress was stunning with its sequin beading and timeless silhouette but what really stole our hearts was her acceptance speech about pay inequality in Hollywood.

14.Emilia Clarke

When you are as gorgeous as Emilia Clarke, there isn’t much that doesn’t look good on you. The Khaleesi reiterated her power, both as Emmy royalty and fashion through a Valentino-gown.

The plunging neckline of her dress was accented with a bow at the waist and a subtle tier at the hips. We particularly love that there were two different textures featured on the dress and believe that the straight hair and glowing make-up was a perfect choice.

15.Dascha Polanco

This one might not be a crowd-pleaser but we loved Dascha’s bold Christian Siriano dress. The double statement bows on the sleeves might have been a pain to deal with all night long but they sure look impressive, photographed on the red carpet.

Polanco has slowly moved away from basic red carpet choices and has been experimenting with courageous trends and designers. We also love that she unequivocally shows that fashion is not based on your size and can be enjoyed by everyone.

16.Jameela Jamil

The Good Place might be coming to an end but we aren’t even close to being done with its star Jameela Jamil. From her powerful, poignant and precise twitter speeches to her sensational style, Jamil is becoming the new IT girl.

Her robin’s egg blue silk gown was picked by her new stylist Law Roach, who is behind Zendaya’s fashion transformation. Jamil opted to do her own make-up for the big-event, shunning away from the day-long prep many other actresses opt for during award season.

17.Lena Headey

Always ready to push the boundaries, Lena brought her A-game at the 2019 Emmys. Being one of the few stars to opt for a print, Headey looked playful and put-together in her Brock Collection’s SS20 dress.

Its always refreshing seeing Headey in her natural brunette hair and this time, she styled it into a soft-top knot with whispy and romantic bangs. Her understated make-up assured that all eyes were on her tiered dramatic dress.

18.Jodie Comer

Comer has gradually been cementing her place in the fashion hall of fame with her runway-ready street-style and even better red carpet choices. For this year’s Emmy Awards she decided to change it up for a classic number.

Wearing a white Tom Ford dress, Jodie resembled a sophisticated siren. The surprising choice of a simple half-up and half-down hairstyle was just a hint of adventure while still keeping true to the sedated appeal of the dress.

19.Kerry Washington

Every time Kerry Washington has decided to grace a red carpet, she has done herself and the fashion community proud and it was no different this time. She avoided the traditional dresses for a trendy and valiant option.

Her grey-silver sequin trousers by Alexandre Vaulthier Haute Couture were the talk of the night and mixed with the almost medieval ruffled button-down made for a quirky ensemble which was both fun, trendy and practical.

20.Mandy Moore

After becoming the star of This Is Us, some suggest that Moore had a bit of a transformation in Hollywood. Gone were the days of a quiet teenager, who spent time singing love songs. The show’s success allowed Moore to show everyone her incredible acting and style chops.

Red and pink were one of the more popular colour combinations on the purple red carpet and Moore did it justice with her Brandon Maxwell dress. We love the almost “presidential” air around the dress which was finished beautifully with her dramatic hairstyle.
