It is a risky proposition to keep apples in the fridge because they make so much ethylene gas. If you keep them alongside other fruits and veggies, they will ripen more quickly. Sometimes that can make it so they go bad.

Just keep them on the counter and they’ll be good for a couple of weeks. Their bright colors also add some life to your kitchen. If you do decide to put them in the fridge, as they do last longer that way, just keep them away from other produce. Also, don’t forget that one bad apple spoils the bunch!
