In the middle of the Pacific sits Guam, a tiny island that has been a U.S. territory since 1898. The disputed area is quite controversial and The U.S’s strong military base there is well-needed.
The U.S. has a naval base and an air force base on the island and is in a strategic position to defend the mainland U.S. from any missile strikes coming from Asia.
