29. Bunkers in South Dakota

Vivos xPoint, a decommissioned army based in South Dakota, closed its doors back in 1967. However, at the time, they built a bunch of bunkers, and now they are being sold off to private citizens. A whopping 575 concrete bunkers are “off-the-grid” in the plains near the Wyoming border and, believe it or not, they’re planning on constructing more of these things.

You can lease a bunker here for 99 years for just $25,000 in addition to a $1,000 annual charge. They have plenty of space, between 1,590 and 2,120 square feet. It’s certainly not luxurious living though, as there’s no power, plumbing, or air filtration systems.
