Thomas Jefferson
This founding father may have fathered a bit more than just the United States. After his wife died in 1782, he went for his slave, Sally Hemings. They had at least one child, but he never owned up that the child was his own. Their boy, Eston Hemings, was raised by Sally’s husband, James Hemings.
We find it hard to believe it a coincidence that James was one of the mere two slaves that Jefferson granted freedom to during his life.
